I am also concerned about the $20 registration fee and why the late fee increased from $5 to $10. Has the age for enrollment in the CDC changed from 6 weeks to 6 months? The CDC should not be making a profit, but should be trying to give us the best child care at the most reasonable prices. Concerned about health , structure, the 649th Air Base Group commander e basis. . may grant exceptions on a Additional help from the Air Force Aid Society may be available in determining which families should qualify for reduced fees. The $20 annual registration fee applies only to part-dapreschool and children who were not registered with the CDC prior to Nov. 1, 1993. Regarding the late payment fee, the $10 per week late payment fee has been in effect for quite a while. This fee, instead of going to $20 per week, was dropped to $5 on Nov. 1. As for the age, the CDC accepts children of 6 weeks to 12 years old. Finally, the CDC on Hill always strives to provide quality care at reasonable prices. However, the CDC continues to lose money and, in fact, projects a loss of $150,000 for fiscal 1993. Sponsorship of the week of training during Federal Women's Week is planned and coordinated by the Federal Women's Subcommittee. However, all base employees, military and civilian, are invited and strongly encouraged to attend and provide input. The Federal Women's Subcommittee is very conscious of the needs of all employees. Therefore, all classes are oriented. Classes regarding parenthood, family life and employment issues have been and will continue to be open to all interested employees. Why Women's do we have Women's Week on I I would like to address several of the sues you brought up which I believe warrant further explanation. First, income categories, fee ranges and the definition of total family income have all changed recently. The change in the definition of total family income was required to comply with a revision in the Internal Revenue Service definition of military family income, which now includes basic allowance for quarters and basic allowance for subsistence. As a result, the DOD policy includes all income, whether taxable or not. In light of the expected zero or small wage increase predicted . for January 1994 or later, the CDC staff careful-ly considered this impact on families in determining which fee within each income range would be used. ;? :,j AJso, if you have trouble paying the new fee yi 42 Union AFOSI Narcotics Hotline losses; but the center will still not break even. Mr. Figgins is always willing to work with people and is very dedicated to customer satisfaction. In this particular case, Brent could see the unique requirements of this project and went out of his way to see that they were met. This is not unusual, as Brent demonstrates daily his dedication to his people, his job and the mission of the Air Force. Mr. Palmer continues to demonstrate his willingness and dedication to provide for the needs nated the efforts necessary to meet those requirements. This is not something uncommon for Bob, as he consistently performs ihe duties of his job in a superior manner. ' Thank you for taking the time to recognize the efforts of those willing to go the extra mile to accomplish the mission. I would like to give kudos to John Medina, an equal employment opportunity specialist in the Technology and Industrial Support Directorate, Bldg. 849. When you need help or understanding, he is a genuine h6man being. He tries in every way to resolve the problem. He doesn't try to make you feel like you are totally at fault and tries to see both sides. He is a very understanding individual. TI management was excited to hear your gracious compliment about Mr. Medina. They know that John is a real asset to the TI Directorate, and your remarks mirror that opinion. It is always great to hear positive comments about an employee who is so deserving. Keep the kudos coming! Your compliment will be passed on to John in the TIC staff meeting. |
