Show June 24, 1993 5 Hilltop Times affairs cDoiriffnos yimiivoirinni iregyloU'DOim changes Feirs6m)oB - It seems the Air Force uniform is changing faster than most people can keep up with it. As soon as one change is implemented, another is on its way. With so many additions, corrections and deletions, some may feel the regulation governing the appearance of is bemilitary members, AFR ginning to resemble a road map more than a regulation. Here are a few of the most recent changes: D When the aircrew style name patch is worn on the battle dress uniform, officers may wear subdued insignia on the collar and enlisted members may wear subdued chevrons on the sleeves. The change is effective immediately, but the mandatory wear date is Oct. 1. B The ASNP will be centered one-hainch above the left breast pocket. Members wearing the patch in its current position are not required to reposition the patch. However, the change is mandatory by Oct. 1, 1995. D The maternity uniform may be worn up to 90 days after delivery if recommended by a physician and ap 35-1- proved by the organization commander. D When not being worn, the BDU cap may be attached to the left pants pocket button or may be stowed in the left or right pants pocket. fl BDUs, including maternity, may e be worn to dine at local establishments frequented by civilian workers wearing work clothing comparable to the fatigue uniform, regardless of whether or not the establishment offers waiter and waitress service. Personnel are cautioned to select a dining establishment that satisfies these criteria. Dining at establishments that require a more formal dress code than work fatigues is prohibited. BDUs may be worn on Air Mobility Command aircraft during intra-theate- r deployments, unless another uniform is directed. Members deployed to perform emergency or periodic maintenance may also wear this uniform if they are not going through commercial airport facilities. B While wearing BDUs, the authorized headgear will be either the BDU cap, or, when authorized by the major off-bas- 0, lf T uCl COUPON fr1 rat-in- cap. B Air Force personnel traveling on or controlled aircraft DOD-owne- d (Category B or commercial scheduled charter flights) may wear civilian clothing. The civilian clothing should be neat, clean and appropriate for the occasion and customs of overseas locations. No obscene lettering or pictures or torn clothing is alowed. Clothing should be warm enough for operations, and safe should emergency conditions arise. B BDU caps will be required for all deployments, field training and exercises. While wearing whites without a jacket, members have the option to wear a colored organizational baseball cap or the flight cap. When wearing the lightweight blue jacket, the coat or raincoat, the flight cap must be worn. As further changes are made, the Hilltop Times will print additional articles.
