Water sports rank as the number two killer in the Air Force. Most of the accidents occur because of unsafe practices. Even though fishing looks much safer than some of the other water sports, fishing accounts for almost 55 percent of the boating fatalities. The main reason is because many anglers apparently fall overboard due to standing and moving around in the boat. Excitement also brings people to their feet, causing unexpected movement in the beat which can pitch another person overboard, or even swamp the boat.
