This will give viewers an opportunity to see new ideas at work during the celebration of National Productivity Week. Computer equipmentsoftware demonstrations and presentations will also be available to persons who care to see a new; innovative method for presenting technical training through the use of interactive video disk equipment; features of the computer-aidedesign system, a trouble call netthe work; Logistics Data Integration System; and the Exchangables Production System. The Department of Defense has designated Jan. 1 as Productivity Week, honoring activities ind volving the support of productivity initiatives through an industrial productivity program called Pacer Impact. Pacer Impact leads to goals of industrial main- cost-effecti- 25-3- year-roun- tenance productivity through accountability, creativity and technology. Ogden ALC receives two fop awards in one It was standing room only last week at Poe Con- ference Center during a brief presentation which brought two prestigious awards to Ogden Air Logistics Center. The first award, presented by Lt. Gen. Marc C. Reynolds, vice commander, Air Force Logistics Command, was the Air Force Organizaitonal Award. Maj. Gen.. Charles McCausland, commander, Ogden ALC, accepted, citing the military and civilian personnel who made the honor possible. The second award, presented by Brig. Gen. John M. Nowak, deputy chief of staff for maintenance, AFLC, was the AFLC Depot Maintenance Effectiveness Award. Col. Richard A. Browning, maintenance director, accepted, also praising those others who brought the honor here. Charles McCausland on page 6. presentation General Nowak, who had served as director of maintenance prior to his assignment at AFLC headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, acknowledged the directorate for its savings, progress in hazardous wastes programs, Reliability and Maintainability 2000 centers and overall program management. "It's those kind of improvements which led to selection. We (the selection committee) felt Ogden was the most dynamic and live organization within our command," he said. Ogden ALC is the second ALC to ever receive the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award for exceptionally meritorious service. It recognizes the center's accomplishments from Nov. 1, 1983, to Oct. 31, 1985. The Maintenance Directorate received the 1986 Air Force Logistics Command Depot Maintenance Effectiveness Award based on data sent to AFLC multi-million-doll- ar Og-den- General McCausland kept his remarks brief, and thanked six other AFLC organizations for their help in earning both awards. Those he cited are the 2849th Air Base Group, the 2849th Civil Engineering Squadron, the 2849th Security Police Squadron, the 2849th Range Support Squadron, the 2701st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squadron and the 2952nd Combat Logistics Support Squadron. On the maintenance side, Colonel Browning said he was "very proud to represent a lot of dedicated folks in accepting the award." "I'm also mindful that we didn't achieve this on our own," he continued. "Many, many other base organizations helped and I thank them." 's headquarters throughout fiscal 1986. In conjunction with the award, the directorate becomes the AFLC nominee for the 1986 Air Force Maintenance Effectiveness Award in the Depot Maintenance Category. |
