Jensen Ogden ALC Public Affairs Office The U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons flew into Utah, all intent on securing a Western Athletic Conference football victory, but were forced to tuck their tail and head for home. Falcon quarterback Dee Dowis, however, managed to become the leading single season academy quarterback ground gainer, surpassing a Bart Weiss mark of 1,032 yards. Dowis picked up 78 yards in Saturday's contest, chalking up 1,034 yards so far this year. He needs only 242 more ground yards to become the e The Falcons. the academy gainer for all-tim- has three games left to play. In their annual gridiron battle, Brigham Young University's Cougars added another win to their string of The nine, downing the Falcons 24-1Falcons have defeated BYU only in 1982 at Cougar Stadionce, 39-3um in Provo. The Cougars, noted for their aerial display, used the ground game to score first then filled the airlanes with pigskins, picking apart the Falon-targ- con secondary. et booted the extra point.
