Show HILL TOP TIMES Friday, July 12, IMS Fores Bondl pDiys S6fllh) Add9 Rousing melodies of Broadway showstoppers and crisp, clear marching music will be heard tonight in the Officers' Club from 8 p.m. to midnight. The music will be provided by the 566th Air Force Band of the Illinois National Guard as they continue their Utah tour during the next few days. The band has been playing to community audiences since last Tuesday and will continue appearing throughout the area until July 19. ' Tomorrow evening the. band will play at the. Heritage Museum in Layton from 6 to 7:30 p.m.; They will rest Sunday and go on the road to Brigham City Monday for an appearance at that city's Summerfest at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Hill AFB employees will be able to enjoy listening to the band when it makes two appearances during lunch hours. From 11 to 11:45 a.m. the band will play in front of the Directorate of Distribution Bldg. 849 in the east area. From noon to 12:45 p.m., employees in the weat area can see and hear them perform between Bldgs. 1216 and 1217. Wednesday's appearance will take the band to the Layton City Mall for a performance from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the band will be featured with "Talent in the Park" in the Ogden West Park behind the Municipal Building from noon to 1 p.m. The last Utah appearance will be July 19 at Tabernacle Square on Center Street and Main in Bountiful from 7 to 8:30 p.m. , Conductor of the group is Capt. Floyd R. Hendricks, a graduate of Ohio State University and Roosevelt University. He taught music at the high school and college level for 12 years and is presently an administrative officer at Roosevelt University. The 566th Band is part of the 126th Air Refueling Wing, stationed at O'Hare Air Reserve Forces Facility in Chicago. It is made up of 34 enlisted mu- - 13 fiGDo sicians and Captain Hendricks. All are reservists in the U.S. Air Force and members of the Illinois Air National Guard. It is one of only 12 Air National Guard bands in the United States and one of 32 Air Force bands worldwide. Principle arranger for the group is TSgt. John DeRoule. Special arrangements have been written by retired CMSgt. Floyd Werle, a former chief arranger for the U.S. Air Force Band and Sammy Nes-tica former arranger with the U.S. Marine Band. o, Logistics engineers present awards By Debra Trent Directorate of Materiel Management The Society of Logistics Engineers held its first annual awards banquet at the Officers' Club June 19. Jerry D. Wein, Missile System Management Division, Directorate of Materiel Management, received the 1 985 SOLE Logistics Management Achievement Award for improving logistics processes for for the new small intercontinental ballistic missile. CW. Voeller, Item Management Division, Directorate of Materiel Management, received the 1 985 SOLE award for his contributions to logistics materiel, operations and distribution. Mr. Voeller was cited for imaircraft. proving worldwide landing gear, wheel and brake support to C-- 5 Larry Farmer, the new head Dasketball coach at Weber State College was the guest speaker. Coach Farmer formerly starred with the UCLA Bruins and later became their head coach. New officers were elected for next year and announced by Roe Walker, district representative. Ted Helsten is chapter chairperson; Noreen Hodgman, vice chairperson; Rick Holsman, vice chairperson for technical; Nancy Veibell, secretary and Kara Cox, treasurer.
