Openings are available in all three phases of PME: Phase I and II, NCO Leadership Schools, NCO Academies, the Air Force Senior NCO Academy, and the ship and Management Center. Most Phase I and II positions are for staff and technical sergeants. NCO Leadership School vacancies are primarily for staff through master sergeants, with some requirements for senior master sergeants. There are some overseas Leadership School vacancies. The Leadership and Management Center, Maxwell AFB, Ala., needs one master sergeant and one senior master sergeant. The Senior NCO Academy has continuing requirements for highly qualified master and senior master sergeant instructors. Volunteers must have completed a level of PME equivalent to or higher than the level they wish to instruct. Selectees will serve four-yea- r controlled tours in the United States, or the length of their tour at overseas locations. Members from all career fields are eligible to apply; however, applications from members serving on chronic shortage skills and those who have received a selective bonus for their current enlistment are rarely approved.
