Among the activities planned are a banquet Feb. 25 at the Officers' Club. After a social hour at 6 p.m. and the 7 p.m. banquet, attendees will hear keynote speaker Maj. Gen. Bernard P. Randolph, director of Space Systems and Command, Control and Communications, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Research, Development and Acquisition, Headquarters U.S. Air Force in Washington, D.C. U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Willie Dunn, Jr. of Fort Douglas, will be featured speaker at a religious service at the base chapel Feb. 27. In addition to the above Hill AFB activities, "The Black Eagles," a historic epic of America's only Black Air Force, will be shown in a four-pa- rt 20-2- first graduating class of Tuskegee In- stitute, Ala., a coeducational college founded by Booker T. Washington in 1881. The airmen tell a story of a victory over segregation not told in most history books. The series follows the Tuskegee Airmen through two wars: one against the German Luftwaffe and the other against racism. The narrative begins with "Clipped Wings," outlining the Jim Crow views that excluded Blacks from flight training and the airmen's response to the Army Air Corps' discriminatory policies. The 99th Fighter Squadron showed them that Blacks could fly. But could they fight? At the end of Part 1, the 99th goes overseas to face the enemy. Part 2, "The Enemy Within," focuses on a period when critics of the 99th's overseas performance claimed that Blacks had failed the test of combat.
