Funds for 1984 through 1987 must be authorized by Congress. The new contract calls for four aircraft to be delivered in 1983, eight in 1984, 11 in 1985, 12 in 1986 and nine in 1987. In addition to the aircraft orders, the Air Force also authorized $27 million for KC-1- 0 logistics support for fiscal 1983. Force Contract Management Division, Accounting and Finance Division, recently signed four checks totaling $386 million, the biggest single payment ever made at AFCMD and the largest payment written by any disbursement office against the Treasury Department. The checks were for the Air Force KC-1- 0 program to increase U.S. military mobility by refueling fighters and strategic aircraft and augmenting g capability. Detachments of the Reserve Hospital are planned at Mather and March AFBs, n Calif.; AFB, Ariz.; and Fairchild AFB, Wash. The hospital and detachments will take over health-car- e responsibilities when active duty members are temporarily deployed to other locations. The Travis Headquarters will be operated by 225 reservists and three civilian employees.
