In festivities held in the NCO club, wing personnel gathered to honor the special achievements of their 12 outstanding enlisted personnel and select three to represent the wing in competition at Tactical Air Command level. MSgt. Thomas Connors was named Senior Noncommissioned Outstanding Officer. A first sergeant in the Equipment Maintenance Squadron, he said, "This award is just super. David Syndergaard, an engine monitoring systems specialist in the Component Repair Squadron. "I can't believe it. It's really an honor to represent the squadron, but an even greater honor to represent the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing." SrA. Charles Smith was named Outstanding Airman. "This is the greatest experience I've had in the military," he said as he received the award citing his expertise as an environmental control system specialist on the 6 multirole fighter.
