Show Page October HILL TOP TIMES 2 10, 1980 Ihit3ifreirs Bill WesSh r setts One of the most often asked questions in the fall of the year at Hill Air Force Base is "When is the heat going to be turned on?" buildings, the steam plants will not supply heat to buildings. The Energy Management Office, in conjunction with the Gvil Engineer, will closely watch the situation and take necessary action to turn on the heat as appropriate. In the meantime, employees are encouraged to dress for the cool mornings, in long sleeve blouses and shirts, sweaters, light jackets, slacks, etc. When the heat is turned on, it will take two to four days for all buildings to receive the heat, so employees are asked to be patient until their specific building is heated. Each day the heat is off, Hill AFB conserves both money .and precious energy The normal turn-o- n date in the past has been Oct. 15, but weather conditions often dictate a different date. Fall weather in Utah is very, fickle and an early storm or cold spell can cause heat to be turned on earlier. This year the heat will be turned on as late as possible, with consideration of the temperature as the main factor. Some buildings where certain temperatures are required for processes or are specified by Technical Orders, are already receiving heat. As long as daytime temperatures remain in the 50s and 60s and the sun warms the sources. s Use coy Id increase risk i i I i i r i ftODERTS' iAtlLY Acti peeling of the skin particularly on the fingers and toes. Benefits summaries describing available plans will be on a single page. An additional page will be provided for plans with two options. Those plans open to all employees will be bound in a booklet for ease of handling. In addition, summaries of plans limited to special groups or specific geographic areas (comprehensive and some employee organization plans) will be distributed as single sheets. A single booklet will contain benefits summaries of all plans (government-wid- e employee organization and comprehensive plans) that will be used in designated test areas in Chicago and southern California. The test is being conducted to examine advantages and disadvantages of distributing benefits summaries of all plans in this manner. Comparison charts will be used by agencies to assist personnel specialists in counseling employees on the benefits of various plans. Charts will contain a summary of benefits provided by each plan for selected major benefits categories (e.g., surgery, outpatient care, dental care, etc.). Agencies will receive a limited number of comparison charts based on the size of the agency and number of employing offices within the agency. - Since benefits summaries do not contain a detailed description of plan benefits, plan brochures will still be available through agency personnel offices for employee reference in choosing a plan. Employees should not enroll in or change to another plan without reviewing the brochure of that plan. Upon conclusion of open season, each enrolled employee will receive a detailed brochure of the plan he or she has selected.
