An article on the compressed work schedule (flexitime) was published in the People Line column of the Hill Top Times on June 20. For those who may have missed this issue, the following is submitted. Requests for parcompressed work schedule ticipation in the required approval by the Office of Personnel Management which established a cut off date of April 30, 1980. Existing regulations provide that federal civilian employees working a compressed work schedule are entitled to pay with respect to that schedule. Employees 4- now receive 72 hours holiday pay per year. The day schedule would entitle employees to 90 hours a year and would, in effect, grant 18 additional holiday hours per employee per year . This would be costly in lost production and would not be equitable to employees who could not participate in a compressed work schedule.
