King the 6514th Test Squadron Maintenance Achievement Award for May. rt. it The shop chief, MSgt. Thomas P. Meese, said this type of troubleshooting was typical of Sergeant King. "His extensive background in missile systems makes him an outstanding technician. But what really makes him the valuable man to me is that he keeps going until he finds the problem. He never quits. Lt. Col. Selectee Robert C. Hover, 6514th Squadron Commander, commended Sergeant King for his "outstanding troubleshooting" in this instance and for his "outstanding performance and achievement as a missile systems analyst." A1C f?cJc Miller, an Air Traffic Controller with the 1881st Communications Squadron, has been named squadron Outstanding Airman of the Quarter for the second quarter, 1978. Airman Miller entered the Air Force in 1976, attended basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex. and then went on to Keesler AFB, Miss, for additional training. 'A SSgt. Donald A. E , 4 A Quick action by four controls blaze; prevents widespread base damage On Wednesday, June 28, SSgt. Larry T. Reidford and AB Kenneth E. Paschke, 2849th A Section, assigned to the Munitions Supply Division, Directorate of Distribution, were driving past a field adjacent to Bldg. 1607 when they noticed a fire. They reported it by radio to Munitions Control. Hearing the fire report on the radio, SSgt. Robert L. Rebmann , also of the Munitions Supply Division, and Sgt. Michael K. Kuns, 6514th Test Squadron, joined Reidford and Paschke at the scene. Paschke and Kuns each grabbed shovels aunt ffo V- A From Dallas, Tex., he has been with the 1881st since November 1976. and ran into the field to attempt to control the blaze while Reidford and Rebmann stationed themselves on the adjoining roads to direct traffic and guide the fire department to the scene. The efforts of these airmen in controlling the blaze were instrumental in containing it until the fire department arrived. Deputy Fire Chief Gary L. He found a wiring discrepancy in the power distribution box which had caused the parachute to be disabled from deployment when the telemetry beacons were energized.
