The 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron (ARRS) was reactivated here to manage and command light lift rescue detachments at Edwards AFB, Calif., Holloman AFB, N.M., Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, Fairchild AFB, Wash, and Detachment 4, 41st Rescue, Weather and Reconnaissance Wing (RWRW) here at Hill. The original 40th ARRS was deactivated Jan. 31, 1976 at Korat Royal Thai AFB, Thailand.
