Show J3H With the Hill AFB Officers' Wives' Club Mrs. Hoban Honored At Club Schedules Billing Change ,. Beginning Oct. 1, all new OWC members will be billed $1 per month dues on their husbands' club bill. All present members of OWC will be put on monthly billing as I Mrs. Richard M. Hoban, wife of Maj. Gen. Richard M. Hoban, AMA '. commander, was honored recently at a tea. The tea was held in the Red Room of the Hill AFB Officers' Club. The Red Room was enhanced by a striking black and white color scheme. The table centerpieces were white porcelain candelabra entwined with white gladioli and ? their dues expire. For example if dues are paid through November, 1970, wives will be placed on monthly billing beginning December, 1970. The transition period will take approximately one year, therefore by September, 1971, all members will be on monthly billing. The BX and Commissary Council has sent out a request for teenage representatives to attend their meetings. Teens Invited 24 Worthy Projects Sponsored With Thrift Shop Profits What is the purpose of the Base Thrift Shop? You might well answer this question with one word "Charity." In fact, this is the purpose of the year-rounactivities at the base located in Bldg. 336. shop Who operates this facility? Hill AFB Officers' Wives' Club volunteers who donate time at the a group of friendly, shop charming ladies numbering from 8 d to 14 weekly. Who can sell items? Military personnel and dependents, active or retired. Associate members of the OWC who work as volunteers may also consign items to be sold. Who may shop at the store? Anyone, military or civilian. Where do the profits go? Items are sold for individuals, with a 10 percent commission retained by the thrift shop. Proceeds are used for base facilities, such as to pay the nursery bill for volunteer Red Cross workers, provide baskets for needy at Thanksgiving and Christmas, Youth Council, Girl and Boy Scouts, library, Family Services, Recording for the Blind, Ditty bag program, refurnish nursery, and other worthwhile base needs. chrysanthemums ac- cented with black magnolia leaves. Invitations were sent out by Vivian Clocksin, Jane Givens, Bette Siglin, Betty Renfro, Lyal Willson, and Lillian Story. The refreshments were planned by Lou Wheaton, Betty Gunn, Alice Kotchey and June Heard. The decorations were done by Jane Barta, Carlene Joyce and Betty Miller. Jayne Howell arranged for the music and Mrs. C.J. Beck handled the pouring schedule.
