Hoban assumed command of the Ogden Air Materiel Area on Wednesday, July 8. General Hoban, former vice commander of the San Antonio AMA, replaced Maj. Gen. Robert H. McCutcheon. General reported to Cameron Station, Va., July 15 to become deputy director for Contract Administration Services, Defense Supply Agency. Native of Little Rock, Ark., General Hoban is expected to be promoted to major general rank this month. The new Ogden AMA commander will spend the next few weeks becoming thoroughly acquainted with the base personnel and workloads. Briefings on Ogden AMA directorates and staff offices are first on the agenda. The new Ogden AMA commander, who was born in St. Louis, Mo., entered the Army Air Corps in September, 1940, and completed his aviation cadet training and received his pilot wings at Foster Field, Victoria, Tex., in May, 1943. He then served in various assignments as pilot, instructor pilot and director of operations. He assumed the position of Chief, Flying Safety Division, Headquarter Fifteenth Air Force, March AFB, Calif., in March Shortly after this assignment, he was selected as operations officer for the 433rd Bombardment Squadron at March AFB. Siglin has been assigned to the Ogden Air MaCol. teriel Area's Inspector General's Office and will become the IG on the forthcoming retirement of Col. Edward L. Miller. Colonel Siglin has just graduated from the Air War College at Maxwell AFB, Ala. Prior to that he spent a year as assistant deputy commander for operations of the 4258th Strategic Wing in Thailand.
