Simmons, was crowned "Miss Clearfield of 1969" at the annual pageant held in the Clearfield High School July 2. The pretty new beauty queen is an outdoor girl who loves horses and camping out with her family. Wendy is presently an instructor at the Layton swimming pool, and plans to attend Weber State College this fall. Her contribution to the talent part of the recent contest was a modern dance presentation. She spent the summer of 1968 in Uruguay as a member of the American Field Service student organization. Wendy's father is a logistics specialist in the Operations Branch of the Minuteman Division of Materiel Management. Lola Stecklin is back from an enjoyable vacation trip with her family which took her to the New England states. . Miss Patricia Monson and Joseph , J I I - 111 Linda Blodgett, a key punch operator in Shipment Planning, works "swing" and attends Weber State. She recently returned from a student tour of Europe that left her breathless, the orig inal "Grand Tour" route. Flying from Paris to Amsterdam, concentrating on points of historical and cultural value, the group continued on the Rhine by boat and drove south to Salzburg to "Sound of Music" country. From the big ferris wheel in Vienna's Prater amusement park, Linda was thrilled to look over into Hungary and Czechoslovakia; and another pleasure was seeing the famous white Lippizzaner horses on show. Winding up through the Blodgett Swiss Alps and London, Linda still is bubbling over with her experiences. Joan Berg, Data Communications operator, resigned recently to be with Kimberly Ann, her very new daughter. Hansen, a plumber with the Plant Sen Branch of Maintenance since 1963, retired recently with 20 oi ieaerai service. Mr. Hansen s tirst Civil Service position i with the Ogden Arsenal in 1949, and he also worked at Defe Depot Ogden before coming to Hill AFB in 1951. The Hansens reside in South Ogden, and plans included of fishing and visiting with their grandchildren. Another retiree from the Plant Services Branch was HeJ V. Walters, stock room attendant, who left July 3 with 26 ya of government service. Mrs. Walters began her federal an at the Navy Depot in 1943. She transferred in 1950 to and spent 19 years in Maintenance. Mrs. Walters resides in Ogden with her husband, Lloyd. former Hill employee. The couple hope to do a lot of travand "just take life easy." yea e- SUPER SECRETARY July 14 was a very happy day for Fern Chesley, secretary, for the 2952 Combat Logistic Support Squadron. In addition to receiving a Gold Zero Defects award for the. period of Jan. 14, 1969 through July 13, 1969, she also received a Superior Performance Award for her outstanding job performance from May, 1968, through May, 1969. Ferguson, Comptroller, service certificate to Chester L. Morris, a presents a computer specialist in the Data Automation Division. Mr. Morris came to Hill AFR after his retirement from the Navy in 30-ye- ar 1961 and was employed in Supply management. He has been with the Data Automation Division for the past four years He and hU wife, Genevieve, live in Roy with two daughters They also have a married son and daughter. Editor's Note: In the wedding announcement of Kirsten Johnson and Paul Ronald Peay in the last issue of Hill Top Times, the groom was erroneously named as a technician in the Documentation Branch of the Administration Division.
