A doctor from each hospital clinic gave a talk and outlined the duties and responsibilities of the volunteer in his department. In addition, all phases of hnsmital work were covered, in cluding checking of blood pressure, temperature, pulse and ward respiration, chaperoning, assistance and sterile techn- ique. Holman, hospital administrator, 2791st USAF Hospital, gave a talk on the importance of the volunteer in the hospital and in the Red Cross Blood program. Lt. Col. Harriet Stephens, chief nurse at the base hospital, assisted by Mrs. McCutcheon, and Mrs. Newland, capped the volunteers. They are: Ann Marie Allaire, Charline Arent, Kathy Barton, Babs Chalmers, Helen Cornfeld, Lu- -. cille Dutcher, Lillian Flanagan, Shelva Gilbert, Mary A. Graham, Ruth A. Graham, Karen Groat, Virgie Hickman, Judi Henry, Marjorie Hills, Virginia Houston, Freya Hutchinson, Beatrice Jackson, Patricia Justice and Joan. Krogh. Also, Lucy Link, Irene Marge rum, Linda Maycock, Fay Miles, Alyce Newland, Barbara O'Conner, Nora L. Payne, Milada Potsic, Angela Sabor, Bertie Schiedell, Bette Singler, Cheyenne Skinner, Lil-li- e Stone, Dottie Summers, Jean Wagner, Marcia Wallace, Ruthanna Walsh, Barbara Ward, Janet Westfall, Carol Yalch. Mrs. Gary C. McMahon, of volunteers, presented annual service tabs and pin pins. Receiving her was Mrs. McCutcheon: 14 year tab went to Mrs. Leslie B. ter, Ogden; an Saunders, nine year tab Mrs. Frederick J. Betz and Mrs. Charles W. Nesossis, and four year tab to Mrs. Robert L. Phillips. Mrs. George K. Asselanis, awards and recognition chairman, presented Certificates of Appreciation to Mrs. McMahon, Mrs. Newland, and Mrs. Robert H. Pehrsson. Mrs. Pehrsson acted in an advisory capacity to Mrs. Newland and was instrumental in many of the changes which have taken place in the program. The Spring Red Cross training for new volunteers will begin Feb. 24 at a coffee in the hospital dining room. Uniforms and name tags will be ordered at that time.
