If only they could have what things we don't have any more use for, they would be 80 per cent better off than they are now." This was an excerpt from a letter written by SSgt. Stephen II. Jensen to his mother and similar ones to friends and relatives describing the plight of the many orphans and refugees near Binh Thuy AB, Vietnam, where he is assigned to the 1880th Communications Hometown newspapers printed portions of Sergeant Jensen's letters and it wasn't long before churches, schools, civic groups and individuals from Rhode Island to California, were sending food, clothing, soap, toys and money to the airman for distribution to needy children. Other 1880th personnel became interested in the program and also began writing letters alerting people to the needs at the orphanages. The flow of gifts continued to increase, and the squdaron is receiving nearly 200 packages each week. Money received is used to purchase building materials for construction of schools and additional living quarters. In addition to his work at the orphanage, Sergeant Jensen feature sturdy, covered and "padded" pockets to zW., PJ2 the wearer from sharp objects A pleated vent in the back al' letters ment.
