Show Page HILL TOP TIMES 30 February lflfifi Spot Bid Sale Slated Feb. 13 Redistribution and Marketa ing Division will conduct 9 at a.m. local spot bid sale Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Bldg. 890. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Military and civilian personnel may bid and buy. Items are now on display and may be inspected from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, except weekends. Over 315 items will be offered including tools, desks, clothing, inner tubes, parachutes, office equipment, and miscellaneous equipment. Most items offered have been used and require repairs. A complete list of items offered, as well as sale terms and conditions, may be reviewed in Bldg. 890. John L. Killebrew, chief of Redistribution and Marketing Division, said that mailed bids cannot be accepted. Bidders must be present and registered in order to bid. Items purchased may be removed after payment on the day of the sale. Straley, Eugene A. 2701st Education Trophy Every Worker in Branch Is Award Winner The 2701st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squadron won the Education Participation Trophy by a five per cent margin over its nearest rival, the 2870th GEEIA Squadron. In third place was the 1906 Squadron. Winners are determined by a percentage of members com-- p 1 e t i n g such educational courses as USAFI and ECI cor- " " respondence courses and civilian school classes. Many Awards The citations have been Superior Performance Awards, Gold Zero Defects awards, and Silver and Bronze ZD awards. In addition many suggestion awards, citing them for ideas to improve efficiency, have been presented. All of the workers have received Bronze Zero Defects awards, 18 of them have been cited with Superior Performance Awards, and over half of them wear Silver ZD buttons. Harley D. Christensen, the Gold ZD winner, has all four of the awards. Roscoe E. Echelberger, chief of Safety Division, 2705th Airmunitions Wing, congratulated Carl E. Kilgore, Airmunitions Tech Data Branch chief, on the superiority of his people. It takes top workers to pethe duty assigned to the branch. Their job is to write and maintain technical manuals covering explosive components. rform Safe Methods Mr. Echelberger pointed that the complexity weapons of systems out modern requires many manuals to provide approved and safe methods for storage, handling, operation, overhaul, and testing of explosives. The workers perform such tasks as technical writing, editing, illustrating, typing, layout, and proofreading.
