Show GOP RALLY AT LAGOONFRIDAY The torch lights may be missing, miss-ing, but everything else will have the old fashioned flavor at "Lagoon '"Friday" evening, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tuat is the night of the big Republican Rally where hundreds of party faithfuls faith-fuls are expected to have a good time of fun and fellowship. Publicity Pub-licity Chairman Jim Petersen announced that the rally is under un-der the general sponsorship of the Republican Cub of Utah, the Utah State Young Repuhicans and the Utah Federation of Women's Wo-men's Republican Clubs. General chairman 'is Salt Lake County Commissioner Lament B. Gund-erson. Gund-erson. All of those in attendance will have an opportunity to participate partici-pate in a drawing of over $500 in valuable prizes, conducted by Mrs. Floyd (Dee) Abbott. The Young Republicans pfromise a sparkling program of entertainment entertain-ment under the chairmanship of Stanley C. Mann. H ighlight of the evening will be remarks from the three Re-ipufblican Re-ipufblican candidates 'for the U.S. Senate, iSenator Arthur V. Wat-kins, Wat-kins, William A. Lang and Carvel Car-vel Mattsson. Gov. George D. Clyde will extend the official welcome to open the rally. It is hoped that Meade Alcorn, National Na-tional Republican party chairman, chair-man, will also be present to make a brief address. Special tribute will be paid all county chairmen and vice chairmen, who are expected to turn out en masse for the event. Ken B. Price, chairman of the ticket sales, says the charge is only $1.00 (which includes parking), park-ing), and tickets may be obtained obtain-ed through GOP state headquarters, headquar-ters, all county headquarters, and from all legislative district and voting district chairmen.
