Show REFINERY HAS , LABORDISPUTE A dispute involving relief time for a'bout 36 employees at the Kenneeott Copper Corp. refinery re-finery was brewing with the possibility of a stoke of CLocal 4413 of the United Steel Workers of Amehica. The dispute involves a reduction reduc-tion tin paid relief time for a!bout 36 men performing inspection, weighing and related 'work at Kennecott's Utah refinery. ; Inspection crews have (been receiving re-ceiving two hours and 40 minutes min-utes paid break time, including a paid 30-m'inute lunch period during each 8 hour ishift. The company has reduced this to 1 Vi hours paid relief time per shift, including a paid launch period. per-iod. Other -personnel involved in the dispute have been receiving 2 hours paid break time during each 8 hour shift and under the new schedule wiill receive lh hours paid break time, including a 3G-minute paid lunch period. "The action was taken," said a company spokesman, "on 'line witih the company's program to increase operating efficiency and keep the company competitive dn the copper market." The relief time arrangement is secified in a memorandum announcement an-nouncement and is not part of the regular labor contract. |
