The C and J Corporation of Beaver, Utah have opened a branch plant In Hinckley according to owner Jerry Duke. FREE SHOW Delta City and Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Ashby are sponsoring a FREE SHOW Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2:00 p.m. for all the area youngsters. Mr. and Mr. C. P. Ashby made arrangements for a special spe-cial show, "Tomboy and the Champ" to be shown. Community Yorkers for Xmas Card Donations Announced Several years ago a group of widows of Delta First Ward, calling themselves the Sunshine Sun-shine Club, gave money to the West Millard Hospital in lieu of sending Christmas cards locally. The Idea caught the fancy of many others until now it Is traditional. When the project was first started the money was used in the actual construction of the building of the hospital and of the Extended . Care Facility. Now the money is used for nursing scholarships. The Millard County Chronicle has played a vital part In the project. Hoelzle has been selected as Farm Family of the Year of the Farmers Home Administration Adminis-tration in this area. Mr. Hoelze stopped In this area after being discharged from the Navy after World War II. He liked it here and settled here permanently. Mr. Hoelzle married the former Carmella Schena of Eureka, Utah. They are the parents of two boys, Neno and Joe. The selection of the Farm Family of the Year was made by a local committee of Agrt-culutral Agrt-culutral and business leaders based upon farming practices, money management, family living conditions, participation in community affairs, overcoming over-coming adverse conditions and doing the best with what they had available. DHS A CAPPELLA CHOIR to be on TV Delta High School A Cappella Choir, under the direction of Joe Moody, will be guests of Jackie Noakes on the MIDDAY show, Chanel 5, KSL TV, Tuesday, Tues-day, Dec. 8. They will perform four numbers. The choir will also be singing at the Cottonwood Mall at 4:00 p.m. the same day. Included on the schedule of the day's events for the Choir is a visit at Skyline High School where they will be guests of the Skyline Choir. In addition to those listed, Mrs. Riding has made arrangements arrange-ments with Mr. Ferrin Lovell, First Security Manager, to have personnell in the bank Friday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 18 to accept contributions. Many ask about the amount that should be contributed. Mrs. Riding points out that this is on a voluntary basis and any amount is accepted. However, most contributors give the amount usually spent on greeting greet-ing cards plus postage. Blanchard, 92, Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. at the oak . City Ward Chapel. Mrs. Blanchard died Nov. 30, 1970 In the West Millard Hospital Hos-pital of natural causes. She was born June 14, 1878 In Weeping Water, Nev., to Hiram Potter and Amanda Mel-vina Mel-vina Herrington Blanchard. She was , married to Don Carlos-Blanchard, Carlos-Blanchard, Sept. 7, 1902 at Bridger, Mont. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died 1948. Mrs. Blanchard is a former resident of Fallon, Nev., 1926-1941; 1926-1941; Salmon, Idaho, 194H950J Oak City 20 years. She was a member of the LDS Church. She is survived by sons, daughters, Ruben Don, Reno; Ralph, Applegate, Calif.; Irvin, Lovelock, Nev.; Thad.Gerber, Calif.; Mrs. Everett (Irish) Lish. May, Idaho; Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Lish, Wiemar, Calif.; Mrs. Melvln (Donna) Anderson Oak City; Mrs. BUI (Josephine) Lee, Fallon; 41 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren: 12. great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Wednesday, at Salmon Ceme-tary, Ceme-tary, Idaho. Lynn C. Jacobs Dies in Alaska Lynn J. Jacobs, 44, a former Delta resident, died Nov. 27, in Soldotna, Alaska of a heart ailment. He was born March 6, 1926, at Delta, Utah to Chess and Nora Forsythe Jacobs. He married Betty Lockwich, at Anchorage, Alaska. He attended Weber High School; captain, football team. Mr. Jacobs served in the U. S. Army, 1944-47. He was an electrical engineer at Alaska. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors are: widow: daughters, Dory, Linda, Nina, all Anchorage; mother, Ogden; brother, sisters, Seth O., Mrs. Robert (Molly) McNalr, Mrs. Bill (Ilene) Chamberlain, Mrs. John (Nina) Sclarrlno, Mrs. Gilbert (Onda) Romero, all of Ogden. Funeral Services and burial, took place at Anchorage, Alaska. Mrs. Nora Jacobs, mother and Mrs. Nina Sclarrlno flew to Alaska to attend the funeral Monday, Nov. 30, 1970. |
