Show Pres. E. L. Moody Presents Diplomas To Graduates Deseret Stake President E. L. Moody presented diplomas to 67 Post Seminary graduates and 96 Seminary in impressive ceremonies Monday, June 1, 1970 at Deseret Stake Center. Theme was "Speak Up For Loyalty." Processional music for the graduates grad-uates was played by Shauna Johnson. John-son. Offering Invocation was Warren War-ren Peterson. Michael Styler, Seminary Executive Execu-tive President extended greetings to parents and friends of the graduates. All talks developed the theme. David Johnson spoke on "Loyalty to the Church"; Jetta Barnhardt spoke on "Loyalty to Self." Merrilee Evans and Janet Jeffery gave a piano and organ duet, "The Angels Serenade." Speaking on "Loyalty to God" was Vickie Jensen. Kerry Nielson spoke on "Loyalty to Country." 'The Lord Is My Shepherd" was sung by a quartet, Myrna Riding, Barbara Lovell, Robert Finlinson, Rex Stanworth accompanied by Rebecca Re-becca Henrie. Concluding speaker was Steve Pace, LDS Religion institute representative. repre-sentative. Introducing the graduates and presenting them to Pres. Moody was Paul K. Winward, Delta Seminary Semi-nary Principal. The audience joined the graduates gradu-ates in singing "I Konw That My Redeemer Lives." Chorister was RhoAnne Johnson. Accompanist was Donna Western. Stampede in Nephi; Days of the Old West parade par-ade at Deseret, Junior Band at July 24th parade in Hinckley and Senior Band in July 24th parade at Salt Lake City. Mr. Larsen emphasizes that senior band members must be in attendance at least 75 of the summer schedule as he refuses to take a band to Salt Lake City that is unprepared. ART EXHIBIT An art exhibit by west Millard artists is open to the public at the M. E. Bird Recreation Center, Delta from June 8 through June 12. McAllister, 90 who died May 31 in a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital of causes incident to age. Funeral services were held that morning at St. George First Ward LDS Chapel. Mr. McAllister was born March 4, 1880 in Fredonia, Ariz, to William James Frazier and Angeline Brown McAllister. He married Sarah Aseneth Chamberlain Oct. 4, 1905 in the Salt Lake Endowment House. She died Feb. 25, 1926. He married Louise Henry Skinner at Gunlock, Utah March 4, 1954. Mr. McAllister has served a Southern States LDS mission and was a counselor in the ward bishopric. He was a carpenter. car-penter. Oak City Chapel To Be Dedicated Members of the Oak City LDS Ward extend a cordial invitation to all their friends to attend the dedicatory ceremonies for their new chapel Sunday, June 7, 1970, 2:30 p.m. Elder Clarence Robison will be speaker and also offer the prayer of dedication. Elder Robison is Regional Representative of the Twelve Apostles. In addition to Elder Robison's speech, the dedicatory program will include other special numbers. Queen Tryouts to Be Held June 13 Queen Tryouts for Days of the Old West Rodeo will be held June 13, 8:00 p.m. at the rodeo grounds in Deseret, announces Ronald Peterson and Verl Tolbert, chairmen. chair-men. Contestants must be unmarried and sixteen years of age and over. HIGH SCORERS IN LIVESTOCK JUDGING Three Delta High students were named high scoring individuals in the recent Southern Utah State College Vocational Day livestock judging competition. The three DHS students so recognized were Robert Finlinson, Craig Nielson and Steve Watson. Each received a certificate of award. RECEIVE BYU DEGREES 3,128 Brigham Young University students received degrees in annual an-nual commencement exercises May 29, 1970. Among those were many from the west Millard area. This year's was the largest in the schools' hisitory. Mr. Lussenhope seemed very impressed with the quality of stock at the show and felt that it averaged better than most junior livestock shows that he has attended. KENT HORTIN TRANSFERRED John Kent Hortin, district conservationist con-servationist for the Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service is being transferred to Salt Lake City June 29, where he will conduct SCS affairs in Salt Lake County. Mr. Hortin stationed in Delta since Apria 1968, has been responsible responsi-ble for the work in all of Millard County since March of this year when consolidation of the two SCS offices was necessary due to budget bud-get limitations. Dennis O Nielson, stationed with the SCS in Randolph, Utah will replace Mr. Hortin on June 29 and will probably make his home in Fillmore.
