All our m'stakes and troubles have gone also. Let us strive to make 1963 the very best year we can. Be a good neighbor and friend to everyone. every-one. Mr. Don DaGrade is spend'ng the holidays in Las Vegas with his fam ly. He is our music teacher here at the high school and is doing do-ing a very good job. Mr. and Mrs. David Moody and little daughter Patricia, have just returned home after a week's stay in Colorado vis.ting with Janice's folks for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner spent Christmas in Salt Lake with their son Ray Gardner and family. They came back by Axtell and brot Grandpa Schlappi back with them. Mother is taking care of him for a few days. He seems to have his good days along with the bad. He certaalnly has lived a good 89 years and I hope he doesn't have to suffer too long, but the Lord will bless him I know. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hardy of Cedar City, spent a few days in Delta with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorenson. Mr. and Mrs. Gill Hilton of Provo visited in Delta with their mother, Mrs. Vera Hilton a couple of days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Stastney spent some of the Christmas holidays holi-days in Idaho with their parents. Mr. Stastney is the vo-ag teacher at the Delta High School. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Robison spent two days in Delta with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. June W. Black and Mr. ad Mrs. E. E. Robison. With them were their five children, Donna, Shawnee, Pat, Robin, and Douglas June. They returned home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Killpack had several of their family members mem-bers home for Christmas dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Cahoon and children Linda Kay, Brent, and Janet were here from Orem; Mrs. Lela Petty and daughter came from Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Clair Stephenson Stephen-son and Ray from FJlmore, and also joining with them were some grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Var Stott and daughter Jody of Meadow Mea-dow and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McQueen Mc-Queen and daughter Tina of Fillmore. Fill-more. Mrs. Killpack said they enjoyed en-joyed a very wonderful day. Visiting at the Clayson Cahoon home during the holidays were some of their children and families. fami-lies. Lujean and baby were here from Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Cahoon and family were here from Layton for a few days. , Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hansen and ; daughter Adr anne, visited in Delta ; during the holidays with their par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Morrison. I Mr. and Mrs. Holand Murdock 1 spent a couple of days up north during the holidays visiting with , relatives. I The Elders Quorum In our ward ! held a party on Thursday night, j Dec. 27th in the church. The evening even-ing was spent playing games and ! refreshments were served. It was really a lot of fun. Kent M Her spent Christmas holidays holi-days in Delta with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller. For New Year's the Millers went to Las Vegas to visit with their daughter, Joyce and family. Fam morrison is spending the holidays in Delta with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Morrison and family. Larry Randell is now home after spending two years in the mission field. He will report his mission in our ward on Jan. 13 at 7:00 p.m. His friends are all invited to attend. at-tend. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Edwards and two sons Craig and Kim of Salt Lake spent a couple of days in Delta visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Black. They attended the Alumni Banquet while they were" here. j Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Stephenson had several visitors over the Chrlst- , mas holidays. They were Louis Sigard and daughter Nina of Brig-ham Brig-ham City, Ina Larson and son Quin I also of Brigham C.ty, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Stephenson and son John I of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stephenson and children of Boulder City, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stap-ley Stap-ley and children of California, and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Banks of Manti. Mrs. Stephenson seems to be im- 1 proving every day. She surely has been la d up a long time since her fall but I'm sure she feels better every day. At least we certainly hope she gains all the time, j Verna Jean Sorenson, a very ' dear cousin of mine, spent New Year s in Delta with Don and I. ihe is employed at Provo in the Utah Valley Hospital as a nurse. She works in surgery and she really enjoys her work. She is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sorenson of St. George. Mrs. Lemira Bishop had some of her family visit with her over the 1 holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Gam Brown were here and I also saw Mr. and Mrs. Richard May and their fam.ly too. I do want to wish you all a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year. May all your troubles be few. See you next week. the weekend before Christmas to attend a Christmas party with Mrs. Young's family. Mr. and Mrs. George Corry visited visit-ed with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bales at Provo during the holidays. The Jeff Jones family held a Christmas party for all children and grandchildren at the home of Bryant Jones at Santaquin during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Porter and family of Maser were visitors of the Leslie Porters during the holidays. Mrs. Emil Pearson received word Saturday of the death of her brother bro-ther George Bushnell at Sunset. He was born and raised in Meadow. Funeral in Sunset Wednesday at 1 o'clock; additional services at Moadow Thursday at 1 o'clock and burial at Meadow. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grygla had their baby named in church Sunday. Sun-day. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Allred. Stephen Allred was home over the New Year's weekend. DESERET MRS. EDNA CHP.ISTENSEN Happy New Year everyone. It is starting out good and cold and I guess it wJl end that way but in the meantime we can look forward to warmer weather and it can't come too soon to please me. Gloria Allred and Janice Petersen Peter-sen were down from Salt Lake to spend the Christmas holidays with their folks. Our Christmas Eve program was real nice with all the youngsters taking part, some, two or three times, as our ward is small. Santa came and gave all the boys and girls candy and nuts and oranges. ; Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Rowley at-' tended the missionary report in Garrison by their nephew, Owen Gonder recently. They went out with Loren Rowley and got caught in the snow storm coming home. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allred spent Christmas in Salt Lake with their children and on Friday left to attend the Rose Parade in California. Cali-fornia. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Damron spent Christmas in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Damron and family. Mr. and Mrs. Verd Davis visited with Mr. and Mrs. D.ck Davis In G rants ville recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett went to Richfield on Monday to spend Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Bennett and family. They returned home Christmas afternoon. after-noon. Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Bennett went to Las Vegas and spent Christmas w th their children there. They returned .home to the cold on Friday. Miss Nancy Black spent Christmas Christ-mas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Black. Mr. ani Mrs. Victor Roberts spent from F riday till Sunday afternoon visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jensen and family. i Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner re-' turned home Friday after spending a week in Salt Lake and Ogden visiting their boys and families. . Mr. and Mrs. Orin Allred went to Las Vegas on Friday to visit with Jean's mother, Mrs. Alldredge . and her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Cahoon and fam ly. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hall and son Mark visited at the home of Mrs. ! Edna Christensen on Sunday. They are moving to St. Louip, Missouri in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Palmer and Sharee visited with relatives in Provo from Thursday till Sunday night. j Mr. and Mrs. Phil Fairchild from Midvale, Idaho, are visiting relatives rela-tives and friends in Deseret. i Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Christensen ' and Clay were down to spend the New Year weekend with relatives. Max Jensen returned to Provo Monday to resume his studies at the BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Larsen and family visited with the Eliason ta- milies on Sunday. J Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Damron attended at-tended the wedding reception in Nephi Friday night for Paul Dam ron and Mary Kathleen Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Petty accompanied them. Mr. and Wis. David Jacobs were in Ogden visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jacobs and family during the holiday season. I have but will say nothing about it until I see how good I can keep them. Mr. and Mrs. Ferron Bliss of Spanish Spa-nish Fork and their four children v sited with Clark and Reva Bliss Saturday. They were calling on all their relatives, also Julia's father, Leo Finlinson in Oak City. Raymond Hoelzle has been laid up with a bad back. At this reporting report-ing I hear he is some better. We have had our daughter, Marilyn Mari-lyn Sheriff here a few days this week. She had with her their four youngsters, Rusty, Zeffie, Merril and 4-year old Jerene. Her husband Olen was working and couldn't get away. She also spent some time with the Chester Corbetts on the South Tract. They went home today and it's lonesome. Sherman and Gladys Tolbert have had a week's vacation in Ari zona. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Young and daughter Emily went to California to spend the.r holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Merril Petersen and baby are visiting for some time at the Clifford Petersen home. Merrill has been employed in Wells, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford (Colona Petersen) Bennett of Holden and the r fasily visited with the Clifford Petersens during the holidays. Colona Col-ona Is much better now, after her couple of years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Taylor had four of their children call on Christmas Christ-mas day. Their son Sam of Tempe, Ariz., called that they have a new baby girl, the second girl in a family fa-mily of seven. They plan to name the new baby Kay Ellis. Cute, I think. I take this opportunity to wish each and everyone a Happy New Year! SUTHERLAND MRS MEL CHURCH Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Moody and Karen spent Chr.stmas in Salt Lake with their children. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Moody and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Moody and family fa-mily of Salt Lake were visitors at ! the home of parents, the M. J. J Moodys during the holidays. The Morgan Mays have had most j 01 tneir cnuaren nome over me holidays. Here from Fredonia, Ariz., were Mr. and Mrs. Richard May and family; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth May and family, of Span sh Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Workman and family of Salt Lake and Jay Mayj from CSU. We have had missionary reports at our Sacrament meetings the last two Sundays. Mrs. Zola Bunker reported re-ported her mission of 18 months on Dec. 23rd and on Dec. 30th, Richard and David Henrie gave their reports. All three missionaries gave very interesting reports. On Dec. 23rd after Sacrament meeting a group of our young people peo-ple went carol.ng in the Sutherland Suther-land and Delta area. After the car-'oling car-'oling they all met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson w here they enjoyed doughnuts and hot chocolate. Mrs. Concha Adams spent the holidays in Phoenix, Ariz., with Mr. and Mrs. Homer Christensen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson went to Los Angeles for the holidays. Venna and Neil Haynes have been visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Walker Walk-er during the holidays. They art attending school at Logan. Linda, from the U. of U., has also been here. Jean Steele and daughter was happy to have Gary come home from Turkey where he has been serving .n the Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rigby and Douglas of California and Luana from Salt Lake have visited with the Rulon Andersons during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sanford have had a lot of visitors during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Anderson An-derson of Nephi were here for Christmas. Katherine and Tommy and four children were here from Magna. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Timmons have had a number of visitors during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. John Strickland, parents of Mrs. Timmons, Tim-mons, and Mrs. Carleton De Souza and five children, sister of Mrs. Timmons, were here from Sacra mento, Calif.
