Show j ucjawille Tleivs VENICE DAVIS (Some of last week's news) Tuesday night, a week ago, the 'Mutual held their Christmas party and program around the beautiful tree, aglow with lights and color. Zen Boothe and Cecil Shurtz got the tree, presents were exchanged and refreshments were served. Christmas songs were sung by the group. The program was: song, Linda Losee; a Christmas poem, Roger Shurtz; Christmas poem.Lin-da poem.Lin-da Losee; and a duet by Barbara Losee and Roger Shurtz. Sunday the Glen Losee family gave the program for Sacrament services in the afternoon so the young people could go caroling in the evening. Piano selections by Annette and Donna; a retold story by Linda; talks by Ruth and Glen Losee. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Perkins and family visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Losee and attended at-tended the Christmas party. The Ward Christmas Party was held Saturday night with an operetta oper-etta "Davy's Star." All the Primary took part with Faye Clark, Linda Shurtz, Mathew Clark, Bob and Sharon Clark, Zen Boothe and Vic-ki Vic-ki Jensen taking leading parts. Everyone Ev-eryone took their parts well and it was very outstanding. Santa Claus came with goodies for all children and adults alike. The children crowded around to tell him their wants. The Rod Shields family, the Dennison family, the Robison family, and many others too numerous to mention, attended our party. Mrs. LaRene Davis, Henrietta and Marie Barben made a trip to Salt Lake for a visit before the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Terry and family fa-mily spent Christmas in Brigham City with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Devon Roper and family. Then Sandra came back with them for a week's visit. Sandra tells me she is enjoying her nurse's training in the Holy Cross Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Losee and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Losee had Christmas Christ-mas with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Perkins and family in Baker, Nev. Lane Losee visited with his folks for the Christmas holidays. Evan Jensen and two children of Phoenix, Ariz., spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen and family. The mother is with her parents, who is very ill. Grace Jensen returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Oliver and family fa-mily and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oliver and family spent Christmas with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Oliver and family. Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill entertained with a Chr stmas dinner and party Dec. 25th, The following people attended, at-tended, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foote and daughter Marjorie and husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heise, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark, Mrs. Helen Hersleff, Joyce and Artie. Cards were played after a delicious turkey tur-key dinner. Harold Me'nhardt had his three children, Terry, Diane and Joanne, down for a Christmas visit with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt and Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill and family. Mr. and Mrs. D.ck Clark made a trip to Tooele Saturday and Sunday Sun-day for a Christmas visit with their children and grandchildren, Mr. and ' Mrs. Jay Garcia and family and Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Done and Virginia visited in Denver, Colo., for the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Donald . Reports fire she is doing fine. - - ' Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jergens and family of Sacramento, Calif., v'sited their parents for Christmas, Bishop and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz and all their families. Then Thudsday Mr. and Mrs. Jergens (Colleen) an d Bishop and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz vis ited in Salt Lake, with her brother Shurtz and family. Christmas day Bishop and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz had all their children child-ren for Christmas dinner, 31 in all. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jergens and f aniily, ' Mr.'-'arid Mrs. Kent Shurtz Shurtz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Shurtz and family andi Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz and I family. Mrs. Leo Davis went up with them and came home the next day with her friend Agnes Strickley. She is vis.ting with Helen Hel-en Hersleff and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis and family for New Year's holiday. On Dec. 20th Eva Dutson of Leamington Lea-mington and myself received word that our sister, Lilace Christensen of Centerfield was very ill with pneumonia, so Eva and I went to Centerfield the next day to see her. She was very bad, but since then her cond tion is much improved. Grandma Sarah Ann Wiley has been ill and in the Milford hospital but she was able to be released and come home to spend the holidays holi-days with Lanny and other members mem-bers of her family. We all hope that she will be able to enjoy life. She has always been a fr.end to everyone and is loved by all who have ever met her. Larry Kent, one-month old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson spent a week in the Provo hospital, but was home for Christmas Eve. Hope the little feller will be well and can stay horn with his family. Louis Overson is a patient at the Nephi hospital. He has been there for two weeks with pneumonia. pneu-monia. Seems like this is a bad time of the year for pneumonia and flu and colds. - On Dec. 23rd Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Bradfield and son Don took Margaret Bradfield of Leamington to Eureka, Nev. There Opal and Bud Lambright of Fallon, Nevada, met them. They had breakfast in the cafe together and visited for about three hours. Then Margaret went on to Fallon with the Lam-brights Lam-brights for the holidays and the Bradfields came back to Lynndyl. The William Overson family had a family get-together Dec. 23rd at the home of Ellen and Myron Fra-zier Fra-zier in Orem. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. William Overson, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tolbert and children child-ren of Lynndyl; Caroline and Curtis Jacobs and children, of Stockton; Dian and Dean Durrant and children, child-ren, of Vallejo, Calif., and Leland and Wayne Overson and g'rl friends of Salt Lake City. Also, some cousins from California who are going to school in Provo. They all had a wonderful time. There were 40 people there for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Benson of Salt Lake vis.ted at the home of Donald's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson. The program in church Sunday night was furnished by our young people. Talks were given by Roy Best, Rex Abbeglen, Paula Simpson, Simp-son, Kathiynn Nielson and Wendell Nielson. Piano selections were played by LaWrene Bradfield and lane Nelson. Prayers were offered by Herbert Abbeglen and Robert Nielson. It was all so interesting. Jay, Rose and Thayne Bradfield, of Las Vegas, and Rayma and Kent Hughes of Salt Lake came home to spend Christmas with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield, Don and LaWrene. Christmas Eve the ward had a lovely program consist ng of dancing, danc-ing, readings, pantomime and musical mu-sical numbers, afir which Sr.:i a Claus came and (Jalked to everyone every-one and gave eMoryone a large bag of candy, nuh and oranges. Then everyone haci. to hurry home to get to bed so he t.ould come to all the homes and lave toys and gifts for all. We had one of the best Christ-mas's Christ-mas's ever. Our four children, two in-laws and ono grandch Id were all home. Seven stockings w e r e hung up with care, in hopes St. Nichols would soon be there. Five pair of big feet, one pair of middle s zed feet and one pair of sweet baby feet went clop, clop, pitter, patter, off to bed. But at 6 a.m. they were all up and ready to see what Santa had left and to open all the gifts, from family and friends. It was a wonderful day, one that I wilH remember always. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nielson of Salt Lake spent Christmas with Dee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson. ;Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilk ns went to Oak City and spent Christmas with their daughter, Barbara and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ivy J. Nielson and Karen Nielson- were home from Salt Lake with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Nielson. Joe and Emma Jean Nielson Ev-ertson Ev-ertson and daughter Lisa of Salt Lake were home with the Roy Nielson family. Visiting at the Louis Overson home last week were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Overson and son, of Bountiful; Bounti-ful; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Overson and ch Idren, of Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Schwabb, of Ely, Nevada. Janet and Nephi came for the Alumni Banquet in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Nielson and children from Salt Lake visited with Kent's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson last Friday and Saturday. Sat-urday. Kent's children have just gotten over the chicken pox. Kent and Mary Alice went to the Alumni Alum-ni Banquet in Delta. The baby daughter of Joe and Nancy Nielson was named here in church Sunday. She was given the name of Ruth Ann, After church grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed N elson had grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nielson and children from Leamington to their home for dinner. Colleen Nielson Fowler and children child-ren of Salt Lake are at the home of Colleen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson went to Provo yesterday to see Keith's doctor. Keith's wounds are slowly healing. Mrs. Margie Greathouse and boys went to Cal fornia for Christmas. They will visit with Linda and Emma Em-ma Jean and families. Millard County Chronicle Thursday, January 3, 1953 Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield and LaWrene went to Hinckley j Sunday and visited with Mr. and' Mrs. Dewey Carpenter. Today, the last day of 1962, I've ! been reminiscing. Just thinking ofj the outstanding things that havej happened in our little town this past year. Some are pleasant, some are sad. We have had one death, that of Gary Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Nielson. He passed away July 16 at Denver, making mak-ing us all very sad. Their have been six babies born here, five girls born to Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Dutson, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tolbert, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson and one boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson. There has been four weddings, Cheryl Greathouse, Dee and Blaine and 'vy J. Nielson. Lots of grandchildren grandchild-ren born to former Lynndylittes. Three ladies with broken legs. They were Eleanor Nielson, Lucille Nielson and Nola Greathouse. Two families have moved "away. They are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hogan and the Woodrow Halsey family. How I missed ltille Mildred this year. She was always here on Christmas morning to show me the gifts Santa had left and my good neighbors, the LaRues. They have taken the third little Navajo baby into their home and are showering h m with love and kindness. We also have two lady missionaries out, Sisters Ellen Best and Linda Wilkins. Also Brother and Sister Hogan. I got a letter from them recently wanting me to remember them to all their fr.ends. We have the Ne.l Lake family living here now. We all enjoyed Eleanor's, Alpha's and Minna's flowers this past summer. Lawrence Bradfield got his first elk and many of us had the pr vilege of going to the World's Fair in Seattle. We have s x young people going to college. They are Jane Nelson, Kathlynn Nielson, Lanny Wiley, Barney Davis, Da-vis, Eric Nielson and Ross Johnson. John-son. Oh yes, we have Allen and Carol Ann and their ch ldren in our ward now. Sorry that Roy Nielson Niel-son has been ill most of the past year and that Keith Nielson was hurt so bad last October.
