One group of girls, Judy, Phyllis Nielson, Sandra Benson, Ben-son, LaWrene Bradfield, Valerie Tol'bert got up at 6 a.m. last Thursday Thurs-day morning and went to the sand hills for breakfast, also for lunch. They returned home in the afternoon, after-noon, tired, sunburned and hungry. But still they had a lovely time. The Relief Society held their op ening social last Thursday. They had a lovely program conducted by President Nina Wilkins. The program pro-gram was as follows: vocal duet by Katherine Jones and Eunice Nielson, accompanied by Mina Ov erson; Jean Tolbert, Laura Brad-field Brad-field and Phyllis Nelson gave previews pre-views of the year's lessons; piano duet by Mary Johnson and Mina Overson; reading, by Minnie Ash- by: original poem, by Crystal Sa gers; jokes, by Billie Nielson. The visiting stake officers were Ora Gardner and Donna Jeffery. They both gave interesting talks. Re freshments were served to all. Many friends, unable to attend, sent birthday cards to Jane. Happy Birthday this week to Louis' Overson, Oxel Johnson, Jane Williams, LaRee Johnson, and all who had birthdays in September. Keith Nielson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Salt Lake Friday and brot their dauehter Linda home for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Baird attend. and children of Richfield spent Sunday with the Wilkins family. Rose Bradfield, her mother, De loris Stephens and brother, Frank, of Vernal called at the Lawrence 'Bradfield home Friday on their way from Beaver to Salt Lake. Hattie Johnson of Sutherland is visiting here with her daughter, Mary Johnson and Mina Overson. Alma Banks of Manti is visiting at the Herbert Abegglen home. Sandra Benson and Judy Nielson, 4-H girls, in the third year foods class, entered "cheese-rollups" in the State Fair. They both did very well. Sandra received a blue ribbon rib-bon for first place and Judy a red ribbon for second place. These girls are certainly to be congratulated, also their teacher, Mina Overson. Jane Williams of Leamington Is celebrating her birthday today. Last year the ladies from Lynndyl and Leamington planned a surprise party for her, but she surprised them by leaving town.
