Squires' reactions to the jtory, and to the comments on his personal appearance appear-ance made by the narrator, narra-tor, are hilarious, inciting laughter from the crowd. Classical masterpieces and modern favorites selected to help audience members celebrate the fun of Halloween will be part of the American Fork Symphony's Sym-phony's "Haunting Melodies" concert on Monday, Mon-day, Oct. 25. The concert will begins at 7:30 p.m. in the American Ameri-can Fork Junior High School auditorium, 1120 N. 20 West. Admission is a suggested $3 donation. The concert is presented with support from the American Fork Arts Council. Coun-cil. The symphony will perform per-form the whirling waltz "Danse Macabre" by Saint-Saens Saint-Saens which evokes images of a whirling waltz at midnight. Also part of the concert will be two pieces fom Mussorgsky's work "Pictures "Pic-tures at an Exhibition," a group of pieces written to describe through music and exhibition of pictures. The symphony will perform per-form "The Hut on Chicken Legs" a piece about Baba-Yaga, a witch from Russian folklore and "The Great Gate of Kiev." Allred and Dr. Terry Hill were recently selected to serve as conductors con-ductors of the symphony after the group's former conductor, Diane Soelberg, moved to Idaho to accept a position at BYU-Idaho. The professional career of Allred includes work as a conductor, educator and violinist. He has taught at all levels of public instruction, instruc-tion, including: professor of music at Humboldt State University where he served as orchestra director direc-tor and instructor of violin and viola, conductor of the college of the Redwoods Sinfornia, and his present position as string supervisor supervi-sor for Provo City Schools Dr. Alan Allred where he serves as conductor con-ductor of the Timpview High School Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras.
