AFH Emergency Room has new visitor policy The Emergency Department at American Ameri-can Fork Hospital is introducing a new written visitor's policy to all customers. Now in effect, the policy allows patients who are being treated in the ER to receive only one visitor at a time. The new policy was put into place to help the hospital better comply with the 2003 Health Insurance Portability and Account ability Act (HIPAA), which places hospitals under new regulations to protect the privacy priva-cy and confidentiality of their patients and patient information. More importantly, "less traffic and confusion confu-sion in the Emergency department will allow the staff to focus on the patient and speed their care," said Larry Layne, manager man-ager of the AFH Emergency Department. m Abortion?
