He was horn Fe h r u a ry 2(', 192(i in M o n roe, Utah to J o h n F d w a r d a n d Alt . a I neri a Lewis Thornton. He married mar-ried Alice Thornton in 19(53. She passed away in Hal grew up in Monroe and attended school there. He worked for Mountain Hell for many vears, retir ing in 19S2. Hal enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He is survived by his two sons: Jay (Deone) Thornton, Pleasant Grove, Wayne I Nickole) Thornton, Lehi; 17 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. DeBell George Austin DeBell, (i2, of American Fork, died Friday, March 22, 2002 at 1 l in e Haven Nursing Home. He was horn March 25, 19:59 in K e e n e , N e w Hampshire to Mr & Mrs. Felix DeBell. He moved to Utah where he married Bettv Lee Chidester June 2S! 1971. She passed away on August 1, 1976. He retired from the V ""i r" i Utah State Developmental Center April 27, 2001 after 39 years of service. He is survived by his daughter Laura (Spencer) King, American Fork; 2 grandchildren, both of American Fork, Ann King, age 7 and Lloyd King, age 3. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork; where friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and for an hour prior to the services Thursday. Gillman on February 2, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Madge was active in the LDS Church, serving in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. She enjoyed family history' work. Madge was proud of her contribution to the I i-i dc-n-Our iown wMch she submitted pictures pic-tures and historical mtor- r.-.ation. , , '-e is survived by her hr4-'and Ken of Lindon; and fve children: Leona (Royal) Christensen, Lindon; Gordon (Sherry) Gillman, Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; Lv'e (Loril Gillman, emal, Utah- Bill Gillman, Salt Lake Citv. Utah; and Lisa (Kevin) Gillman. Lindon, Utah. Madge and Ken have 13 grandchildren and two creal-grandchildren. She is also survived bv her sister, Beth Clark, Odgen, Utah. She was preceded in death bv her parents, two infant siblings, a brother, Harold Hooley, and a grandson, DavidChristensen. Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2002, in the Lindon Second Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. DeMar K. Carroll V If. DeMar K. Carroll, beloved husband, father , grandfather and brother p a s s e a away March 19, 2002 in P r o v o , Utah. He was born August 19, 1915 in Blanding, Utah, to Charles Moulten and Lydia Kartchner Carroll. He married mar-ried Marjorie Helen Brady on June 13, 1936 in Union, Utah who was the Love and Comp of his life. He worked at Kennecott, and U.S. Steel, while working a 30 acre farm. He was a avid gardener which he shared with family fami-ly friends and neighbors. His rose garden was the joy of his life. He loved to travel, trav-el, camp, fish and hunt with his family, brothers and Kristin Y. Farley Kristin Yates Farley, age 35, returned to her Father in Heaven on March 20, zuuz in Rochester, New York. She was born March 16, 1967 in American Fork, Utah, daughter of Jay Eldon and Rosalie Fox Yates. She will be greatly missed by all her family and loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Burt Farley, her children, Skyler and Ariel Farley, her father, Jay Yates, and mother, Rosalie (William) Bibbey; also her friends. Just being with grandchildren and greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren was a great joy to him. He is survived by his sons: Ron (Marcia) Carroll, American Fork; Dale (Bonnie) Carroll, Mesa, AZ; Kent (Kathy) Carroll, Payson, UT; LaMar (Jill) Carroll,' Delta, UT; and a daughter Karen (Jon) Adams, Brigham City, Utah. He was preceded in death by a son Raymond Kay, one sister, four brothers, broth-ers, and one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons. A special thanks to Dr. Joe M. Murdock and his staff, also the staff at the American Fork and Provo Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, March 23, 2002, in the American Fork 23rd Ward. Burial was in American Fork Cemetery, under the direction of Anderson & Sons Mortuary. sisters, Jody Johnson and Tiffany Yates, and brother, Jayson Yates; her mother-in-law, Sylvia (Bob) Cobb, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, grandpar-ents, Leon and LaRiel Yates and Don and Thelda Fox. Her greatest love in life was her children and family.
