He further stated that 1 1-.--re will be a nature park i-i trailhead at the top of Grove Creek Drive. They have been given eight acres for a park and they will work with the Forest Service to build a nice area there along with the trail head for the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and others. Thev are trying to keep the motorized vehicles out of the area. They are also developing a park behind the Mt. Mahogany School. Mavor Danklef said the city would like to purchase property next to next schools to have a park and to share facilities with the school. The city is going to put a retention basin and nature park at 1300 W. State St. The basin will hold runoff to control it going down Proctor Lane. "At the end of March we will resume work on the I-15 I-15 Interchange," Mayor Danklef added. "We are now getting the right-of-ways from Macey's to 1-15 for Pleasant Grove Boulevard and we will begin paving part of State Street near the entry to Macey's," the mayor stated. Macey's will be finished by May 15, Mayor Danklef noted. Several businesses will be going in near it and on Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The boulevard will be one lane each direction direc-tion with a 15 foot landscaped land-scaped divider. They may change the plans to add walking paths, he explained. He said the city was delighted that they have gotten the money back from the Mountainlands Association of Governments and the state for the city's investment at the interstate inter-state which really helps Pleasant Grove and Lindon a lot. The mayor added that thev are getting many cans from businesses wanting to co in on the boulevard at the interchange. There are manv requests for housing developments there but thev o want commercial to come first on the boulevard. Danklef also pointed out that they are looking at the needs of the community and a fire station is a high priority. prior-ity. Thev prefer to build a new building rather than to update the old one, he said. They could put all of the Public Safety Departments in one building. Other needs include a recreation center, more library space, and they will be looking for property for these buildings. build-ings. He asked if there were any questions and someone asked about the motorcycles motorcy-cles for the police department. depart-ment. He said there are many places in the city with a speed problem and motorcycles motor-cycles help a lot with that and they can get through stopped traffic easier and maneuver better. They need to spend the money from the traffic school on traffic enforcement and this is how they will finance the motorcycles. motor-cycles. They will train several sev-eral officers to use the two motorcycles. Mayor Ellertson discussed dis-cussed the new freeway interchange and mentioned getting funds from the State Legislature and said we need to thank the legislature legis-lature for that. He discussed dis-cussed the need for a light at the intersection of State Street and Lindon's 700 North and Pleasant Grove's 1000 South. Lindon is working work-ing right now on property acquisition to get 700 North through from 1-15. He said it will take about one more year for them to do that. He said they are putting in areas for commercial, industrial and heavy industrial indus-trial on the west side of Lindon. sewer facilities 7 -Proctor Lane and on" sides of the freewlv 7 too, have a lot efT-.'' from businesses wh-'tr:i like to locate near th'"'" interchange.
