He graduated grad-uated from Tleasant Grove Hi;h School in 19-lfi, then served in the Northwestern States LDS Mission from Dec. 191S to Dec. 19f)0. He married Fva Aleiio Rasmussen .Jan. 3, 19")1, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The first in the PruvoUtah Mission and the second in the Scotland-Edinburgh Minion. She was an ordinance ordi-nance worker at the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, sis-ters, 1 brother, and her daughter Julie Ann. Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at the Ix-hi East Stake Center. Interment was in the Lehi Citv Cemetery. the family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, the Harmony Hospice, Dr. Dickinson, Dr. Frame and their colleagues. He is survived by his wife, nil nine children, 35 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a gTandson, Tyler Kay Fugal. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1953. Jarold was active in the LDS Church as a seventy and high priest. He served as a ward and stake clerk for manv years. He helped build the Provo Rivergrove 2nd Ward before moving to American Fork in 1949. He loved wood working and made many tilings with loving lov-ing care for his family. All Jarold's life he was active in church and civic affairs. As a young man he built trails with the CCC's in Utah's national parks. He was President of Provo's 20-30 20-30 Club, and was instrumental instrumen-tal in establishing the blood bank at Utah Valley Reg. Med. Cntr. He donated land and helped develop the American Fork boat harbor. He gave freely and lovingly to all those around him. As a result of blindness in one eye he was unable to serve in the armed forces. He took his family to Wilmington, CA during the II World War to work in the war factories. Jwli graduated trom Tir.V- n-h School and from I'-V" University ft" Notre Dame with a degree in philosophy a n d accounting. He was a great fan of Notre Dame football. He was in management manage-ment until his retirement at ae fiftv from USS. He then worked" for fifteen years as head accountant for the Division of Family Services for Utah County. Upon retirement he and his wife enjoyed St. George in the winter and Pleasant Grove in the summer. Jarold loved to camp and fish. He and his wife also were able to travel some. He was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Sunderland and by his wife Man-el. He is survived by three daughters: Pat and Michael Pritchett, Susan and Gay Schiffman, and Cora Lee and Sonny Jckowski; eleven grandchildren grandchil-dren and three great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Edith Kline. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 9, at 12:00 noon at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork; where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial, Lehi Cemetery. Orel Theodora Bjorkman Mooney passed away peacefully peace-fully at her home in American Fork surrounded sur-rounded by her loving family on January 30, 2002. She was born January 24, 1916 in St. James. Minnesota to Ole Bjorkman and Thea Marie Gunderson. Orel married Ernest Mooney, July 22, 1934 and they were later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple August 22, 1947. She was an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church and had many callings in her life. She served two missions, one at the Los Angeles Temple and the other at the Washington D.C. Temple. Most recently she was temple tem-ple worker at the Provo Temple and later at the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Orel's love for her Heavenly Father was evident by her service, devotion, faith and the beautiful way she lived her life. Orel is survived by her six children: Clayton (Rita) Mooney, Delta; Marie (Mont) Connell, Highland; Gerald L. (Leslie) Mooney, Henderson, NV; Nola M. Williams, American Fork; Sylvia L. (Gary) Wise, Orem; Elizabeth J. (David) Frost, American Fork; 27 grandchildren, grand-children, 45 great- grandchildren, grandchil-dren, and 2 great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded pre-ceded in death by her parents, par-ents, a brother and sister, husband, and two greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, February 4, in the American Fork 4th Ward. Internment was in the American Fork Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Wendy Breyer and her staff, the staff of Vista Care Hospice, and her dear friends of the American Fork 4th Ward. 4 George Holmes Pope, 87, peacefully returned to his Father in Heaven in the early morning morn-ing hours of February 1, 2002, in American Fork. He was born July 9, 1914 in Garden Pitu TTtnh to Charles W. and Rosetta K. Lutz Pope. He was the tenth of eleven children born in the family. He graduated from Laketown High School and attended Utah State University in Logan where he took classes in civil erigi-" neering. He married Rose Hill on July 25, 1936 in Montpelier, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They spent the first years of their marriage in the Bear Lake area and then in Salt Lake City, where George worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers at Dugway. They moved to San Diego, California in 1944 and George worked at the Convair aircraft plant and later for the City of San Diego as a civil engineer. One of his first jobs with the city engineering department depart-ment was the construction of the Municipal Airport. In 1956, he and two others were electrocuted with; industrial accident. Th; Y- survived severe burns returned to work with: months. George later hi with the construction & Diego Stadium and t: projects and retired in 1 George and Rose move American Fork in 1979: closer to their children grandchildren. George was an : hunter and fisherman enjoyed deep sea fishii: San Diego and fishing trout at Straw! Reservoir in Utah and c locations in Idaho.
