Robinson recently. Steve Chindgren brought Liberty, an eagle seen at the bird show at Hogle Zoo to the event. The Scouts and their families discovered that eagles are birds of prey and trained for hunting. The eagle looked so large it was surprising to learn it only weighed about 12 pounds, but the bones are hollow and the feathers are light. Eagles were among the endangered species but now the bald eagle has made a full recovery and they are as numerous as ever. Liberty is 16 years old and could live to be 30. She was injured and unable to fly and that is why she is living in captivity. Eagles are loyal and spend their entire life with one mate. Eagles are full grown when they are 11 weeks old. Their nests are from 50 to 100 feet in the sky. The little lit-tle ones have to have a lot of courage to leave the nest. "An eagle's eyesight is nine times keener that ours," Chindgren told the group. Drew was invited up to put on the glove and hold the eagle above his head. Liberty spread her wings and called out. Chindgren told Drew he represents the very best just as the eagle does. Drew is the son of Dave and Dianna Robinson. He repaired the old headstones in the cemetery for his project proj-ect along with help from his troop. They dug up the very old headstones in the cemetery, ceme-tery, repaired them and cemented them back in the ground. " m" -m w v .. .n . im ...i in.,.
