Law, to Kristi Lyn Bennett, daughter of Rick and Madalyn Bennett of Holden, Utah. The couple will exchange vows in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple on July 27. A reception will honor the newlyweds that same evening from 6 to 8 at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 E. 500 South. The bride-to-be served in the Pennsylvania Harrisburg LDS Mission from December 1998 to May V- -tv , Richard M. Law Kristi Lyn Bennett 2000. The prospective groom served in the Russia Yekaterinburg and the New York New York South Missions from July 1997 to August 1999. The couple will make their first home in Pleasant Grove. Whitnie Winger to wed Justin Shepherd July 26 Brian and Jynae Bird of Pleasant Grove are pleased to announce the forthcoming forthcom-ing marriage of their daughter, Whitnie Leigh Winger, to Justin Shepherd, son of Rod and Carolyn Shepherd of Lindon. A reception will honor the newlyweds on Thursday July 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shepherd's residence in Lindon at 540 N. 500 East. In case of inclement weather weath-er the reception will be held at the LDS Church at 731 E. Center, in Lindon. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple will make their first home in Pleasant Grove. Whitnie Winger Justin Shepherd John Roberts to celebrate 80th The family of John C. Roberts is pleased to celebrate cele-brate his 80th birthday. There will be an open house to honor him on Monday, July 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m .at the Roberts' home, 383 N. 400 West, American Fork. Friends and family are invited to attend. John was born July 30, 1921, in American Fork, and has enjoyed his whole life there. For many years he was a sports writer for the local paper and served on the Tri-City Golf Committee. He married Betty Keith and they enjoyed 56 wonderful won-derful years before she passed away. They had four children: Carma (Doug) Cornell, Craig (Jill) Roberts, Dale (Becci) Roberts and Carrie (Chad) Smith; and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. John worked at Geneva - : John Roberts Steel for 38 years and after retirement served an LDS mission with his sweetheart sweet-heart to Alabama. Upon returning home he was called as bishop, a calling he loved for six and one-half years. As a certified nurse midwife, she is an advanced nurse practitioner whose specialty is midwifery and women's health. She offers a comprehensive range of women's health services, including prenatal, delivery and pospartum care, annual physical exams, contraception, hormone replacement, breast exams and Pap smears. Callie earned a master's of science degree in nurse-midwifery from the University of Utah and has more than 20 years of nursing experience. She has been practicing at an independent miwifery practice in Roosevelt, Utah for the past six years. The couple has chosen to be married in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple on Wednesday, Aug. 1. There will be a reception held in their honor that same evening from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Timpanogos 6th Ward, 425 E. 500 North, Pleasant Grove. The bride-to-be is a graduate grad-uate of Pleasant Grove High School. She will be attending Utah Valley State College, pursuing a degree in accounting. She works in the accounting department Darwin Box marks 80th birthday Darwin Box celebrated his 80th birthday on July 4 with a family party at his home in American Fork. He was born July 4, 1921, in Tremonton to Voil and Dorretta Box. While he was very young, the family moved to Salt Lake City where he received his elementary education in the Lafayette School, and attended Horace Mann Junior High School. When he reached high school age, the family moved to Payson. He graduated gradu-ated from Payson High School in 1939. Darwin took a job as an -auto mechanic in a Chevrolet dealership in Spanish Fork after high school. He met Vaunda Stone and they were married in 1943. He worked in automobile dealerships all his adult years. Darwin Box He was the service manager man-ager there for 31 years until he retired in 1981 at the age of 60. Darwin and Vaunda have three children: Ronald D. (Marva) Box, Nancy (Joe) Reynolds and Maryanne (Dan) Draney. They have 10 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 24 great-grandchildren. Darwin loves to have the family visit at any time.
