Emily Sumner Sister Emily Sumner, daughter of Frank and Joyce Sumner of Pleasant Grove, has returned from serving in the Guatemala City Central LDS Mission. Cannon Elder Matthew Clark Cannon, son of Pete and Allie Cannon of Cedar Hills, has been called to serve in the Massachusetts Boston Spanish-speaking LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament sacra-ment service Sunday, Aug. 13, at 9 a.m. in the Manila 1st Ward, 2600 N. 900 West, Pleasant Grove. Elder Cannon will enter the Missionary Training Center on Aug. 16. David C. Strasburg Elder David Clark Strasburg, son of Bryant and Ileen Strasburg, has been called to serve in the Spain Barcelona LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament sacra-ment service Sunday, Aug. 13, at 2:50 p.m. in the Grove Creek 10'th Ward, 500 N. 700 East, Pleasant Grove. Elder Strasburg will enter the Missionary Training Center on Aug. 16. Lucile Richards to celebrate 80th birthday August 9 Lucile Campbell Richards will celebrate her 80th birthday birth-day Aug. 9. Her family will gather at the Lehi Historic Hotel, where her good friend, Carl Mellor, is preparing for the celebration. Lucile was born Aug. 9, 1920, to William Henry and Lucy Kerstina Jorgensen Campbell at the Ranger Station in Pebble, Idaho, where her father was a forest ranger. Her family, which included two sisters, Katherine C. Egelund and Anita C. Wanlass, lived in Pebble and Malad, Idaho; Bear Lake (Laketown), and Logan. Lucile graduated from Logan High School and Utah State University. She taught summer kindergarten in Cache County and a combination of first and second grades in Honeyville. She married Grant S. Richards on April 26, 1943 in the Logan LDS Temple. They both taught school in Paris, Idaho, the following year. Grant enlisted in the U.S. Navy in World War II. After returning, they moved to Provo and later to American Fork. Grant was a professor of animal ani-mal science at BYU, and together they operated a registered regis-tered Holstein dairy farm just north of the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Grant died of cancer in 1965. After Grant died, Lucile went back to teaching and taught in Alpine, Pleasant Grove and American Fork. Professionally, she has served as a building representative, delegate to the UEA House of Delegates, the NEA Representatives Assembly, and as secretary of the Alpine Education Association. She has served on various district curriculum cur-riculum committees. She is active in civic affairs and projects pro-jects and has served a number of years as delegate to county and state political conventions. Lucile has always been an active member of the LDS Church and has served in every Ml? They will be honored at a family fam-ily dinner that same day at the home of their daughter in Pleasant Grove. They were married Aug. 11, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple and have lived in their present home for the past 46 years. Glade retired from Geneva Steel in 1995 to pursue his love of golf. Both have been active in the LDS Church serving in many capacities. Glade served as executive secretary and bishop of the Pleasant Grove 9th Ward. LaRue has served in both the stake Relief Society and ward Relief presidency, as well as numerous other callings. call-ings. They are trainers at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, as well as stake family history consultants.
