Pettit, Miss Pioneer Pio-neer Valley from Her-riman, Her-riman, was crowned Miss Utah County 2007 on Friday. She will represent not only Utah County at the Utah County Fair but also Saratoga Springs where she currently works qualifying to compete as a contestant. She won a $2,000 scholarship. Two other north Utah County Coun-ty residents also placing well at the Miss Utah County Scholarship Scholar-ship Pageant were Heidi Lamb, a former Miss Lehi, as the second attendant; and Ashley McCurdy of Lindon and Miss Pleasant Grove as the fourth attendant. Lamb, whose platform was on handicap awareness, and McCurdy, whose platform was creating service-minded youth, tied for the community service award. Jennifer Gulbrandsen, first attendant and Miss Utah State Fair, and Erika Richards, third attendant and Miss Provo, represented rep-resented Provo in the pageant. Miss Lehi Lindsay Eagar also competed in the pageant. The Miss Utah County Pageant Pag-eant ushers in the Utah County Fair which opens today at 4 at Thanksgiving Point ending with fireworks each night at 10. The fair continues through Saturday. Thanksgiving Point Institute has dropped the entry fee for the 2007 fair and admission is free. "Salute to Utah Heritage" is onefs American Fork, Highland Arts Councils I Guys and Dolls American Fork and Highland are again joining forces to present a musical mu-sical theater production. "Guys and Dolls" is this year's selection to follow last year's "Oklahoma." It will be July 26, 27, 28 and 30 at 7 p.m. at American Fork High School, 510 N. 600 East, American Fork. The cost is $8 for adults, $60 for seniors and students and $25 for a family. Tickets are available at the American Fork historic city hall, 31 N. Future Farmers of America, Junior Livestock and 4-H members mem-bers will be competing and showing their hogs, lambs and cattle at Farm Country and 4-H will host talentfashion shows . in the Show Barn. Auditions for ages 15 and older will be held July 19 and 20 from 7-9 p.m. in Room Bl of the SCERA Center, 745 South State, Orem. No appointment is needed. A resume and photo is helpful, but not required. Auditioners should come prepared to sing 16 measures of an upbeat song. An accompanist accom-panist or boom box will be provided. All roles are open and there are several adult roles in addition ad-dition to the high-school age parts. Dancers and gymnasts are also needed.
