Show New Utah - Thursday, February 5. 2004 - Page 1 0 Grove offers 'exfreme theater' experience Family history class to begin "Friends of The Grove" is hosting a benefit performance perform-ance for The Grove Theatre, entitled "Extreme Theatre 24 ." "Extreme Theatre 24", is five directors, five playwrights, play-wrights, a gang of actors and a few set pieces, come together togeth-er and create live theater productions pro-ductions from beginning to end, and are giving only 24 hours to do it. The group is taking applications appli-cations through 10 p.m. on Feb. 10 for directors, playwrights play-wrights and actors who would like to help with the project. The take off date for this benefit project, will be March 5 at 7 p.m. and culminate culmi-nate with a performance on March 6 at 7 p.m. The clock starts ticking when the actors come to the theater in a costume of their choice, with a prop of their choice, pictures will be taken. The playwright will then be given a set of actors and one set piece as inspiration for their play and all must be used in their piece. The playwright play-wright will then write while the director and actors rest Early in the morning the play will be finished and the director's job begins. The director will come up with a concept how the script is to be presented. The actors will then begin their magic. Together the actors and the directors will create, memorize memo-rize and polish the script that was handed to them not more then 12 hours prior.
