Fork Dennis Jensen of Alhprt-eon's Alhprt-eon's has been named the Business Person of the Year by the American Fork Chamber of Com merce? m He has worked fof the company for 32 years, 22 of those as a store director. Herman 'Herm' Nephi Buhler 1925-2004 On January 31, our beloved husband, father, grandfa ther, great-grandfa-ther, brother broth-er and friend passed away peacefully peace-fully after months of fighting stubbornly to overcome complications com-plications following a massive mas-sive heart attack. He wa6 born April 28, 1925 to Alma and Hazel Buhler. He grew up in Highland High-land and graduated from American Fork High School, where he was a star athlete-He athlete-He served in the Army Air Force and returned home as a highly eligible bachelor, until he saw the girl of his dreams, Glenna Fae Jor-gensen, Jor-gensen, her hair blowing in the Highland wind, out in his sister s tomato patch. They were soon engaged, and she waited for hrm as he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Africa. Ee returned and married Glenna Glen-na in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 18, 1950. He attended BYU for a time, but worked most of his adult life at Geneva Steel He was always involved in sports, as a player, coach, supporter, spectator - and critic. He was an active High Priest in the LDS Church. He worked in many Church organizations, and especially enjoyed serving in the M Men and Gleaner, Athletic, Ath-letic, and Sunday School programs. pro-grams. In .addition to Ms mission to South Africa, he served as a Seventy and Stake Missionary for many years. He and Glenna also served together .as Member Locator missionaries. For him, the Gospel wasnlt so much about 'chapter-iand-verse, but more about family ,and relationships. He held firmly to principles, but cared even more about people. peo-ple. He always believed he .and those around him could 'change and become better (than they are, but had limited limit-ed patience with those who Mildred Grace Herron Mildred Grace Herron, :96 formerly .of Lehi, passed away Jan. '30, 2004, an Sumner, Sum-ner, WA, She was born Oct. 3, 1907, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eay and Clara Tripp. She was raised and educated edu-cated in Lehi. Grace married mar-ried Max Herron in March 1925. They were married 59 years prior to Mai's death in 19B4. Grace resided most iof her life in Utah. He performed miracles with bailing wire, tape, glue, discarded lumber, and Merthiolate. He often worked to help relatives and others with major building and repair projects, but the job of gandy-dancing was generally left to Herm, who found great pleasure in a smooth concrete finish. He sometimes yearned to build bridges and other grand structures, but found joy (and bis legacy) in constructing construct-ing Ms home, keeping an appliance running a little longer, jury-rigging a car engine, and producing dressers (and other earthquake-proof furniture), pencil pen-cil holders, treasure hunts and precious family memories. memo-ries. Sherlene Adams has been a lead secretary in the Alpine School District for nine years. She has operated operat-ed a year-round school, an extended-day school, and opened a new school. Each of these requires a great deal of expertise and extra work. Through all challenges, chal-lenges, Adams calmly and coolly works to solve any and all problems which may occur. She is a rock. She also has the ability to give people peo-ple the attention they need and help them with any needs they may have. She shares her knowledge with others. She has trained several sev-eral part-time secretaries who have gone on to full-time full-time jobs. Sue Stratford is PTA president at Westfield. If the world could harness just a part of her energy, there would be no need to drill for more oil. Kite has been a tireless advocate for the students, teachers and parents of Westfield Among the many things she implemented imple-mented or continued include teacher grants, school carnival, dads and donuts, take home reading. She is in the process of building an a rts-in -education program and a school walkathoa. Teachers at the school have bought in to what the is doing as evidenced evi-denced that everyone of them joined the PTA this year. Jim Tracy is an example of a selfless school volunteer. volun-teer. Over the years, Tracy has provided time and ewrr-gy ewrr-gy to the students of Wert-Cifeld Wert-Cifeld in a variety of ways. One thing that everyone loves about Tracy is bis train, Jim s train is often seen hauling the c;'hxr-bood c;'hxr-bood kids during the warmer months. Tracy has donated bis train to help raise funds at the PTA fall carnival, field day and other school activities.
