Mr. and Mrs. Al Switzler of Highland are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Lindsey Michelle Switzler to Gregory Dale Merten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Merten of Corvallis, Ore. The couple will exchange vows in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Dec. 7. A reception will honor the newlyweds that same evening. The bride-to-be is a graduate grad-uate of BYU and majoring in public relations. Shortly after their marriage Kent was called on a two-year two-year l.DS mission to .southern .south-ern California. Their first child was born while he was in California but he managed man-aged to be there for the remaining eight children. The Walkers lived for a short time in American Km k before moving to Idaho Falls and then Pocatello, Idaho, before moving back to Utah to be close to their families. While in Idaho, 2 mm Lou Jean and Kent Walker Kent served in the State Legislature and was a sue: cessful insurance agent. He also served on the American Fork City Council after they returned to Utah. Lou Jean has served in many church leadership positions but has spent most of her time enjoying her nine children. The t wo of them also served a two-year LDS mission in Bayone, NJ. In addition to their nine children, Kent and Lou .Jean have 36 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, two great-grandchildren and one dog named Whiskers. noon. There will be a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, trim-mings, a program called Blue Sage and a lot of prizes. The local merchants have donated many prizes. The annual membership drive is still going on. Membership Mem-bership is $4 for the year and this entitles members to subscribe to the local paper for only $13. The membership will also include the annual Christmas Christ-mas dinner at the high school on Saturday. Lunch at the center is each weekday at noon. Suggested Sug-gested donation is only $2. There is a van that will pick you up and take people home for 50 cents. Anyone who doesn't like the menu for a certain day can order a chef salad. Those attending should call the center at 763-3090 the day before to order lunch. The annual trip to enjoy the Christmas lights Dec. 11 really filled up fast. This year they will also come back and drive through the light display at Thanksgiving Point. Cost of the trip will be $12. Those who wish to attend should call the center to get their names on the list. The Sizzler Siz-zler has offered a choice of steak, shrimp, Malibu chicken, lemon chicken or the salad bar. Kyle Prestgard Kyle Trent Prestgard, son of Wayne R. and Jane Prestgard of American Fork, received his Eagle Scout award at an Eagle Court of Honor on Nov. 23. Kyle is a member of the Venture Crew 934 sponsored spon-sored by the Hillcrest 4th Ward. For his Eagle project Kyle helped in the move of the American Fork library. Through his efforts over 100 people were recruited. He is in the 11th grade at American Fork High School. He has played on the freshmansophomore Daniel Sharp receives Eagle Daniel Craig Sharp, son of Brent and Joyce Sharp, of American Fork received his Eagle Scout award at an Eagle Court of Honor on Nov. 23. Daniel is a member of the Venture Crew 1123 that is sponsored by the Hillcrest 6th Ward. For his Eagle project Daniel collected school items and fabric to make 50 literacy kits that were handed out to children at the Literacy Center at the American Fork Library.
