Show Kirkmount to perform at Sundance The musical brothers known as Kirkmount will perform a holiday concert in the Sundance Rehearsal Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 29, starting at 7 p.m. as part of Sundance's annual "12 Watercolor class offered in AF The Winter Watercolor Class offered by the American Fork Fine Arts Council will begin Jan. 15 at Lehi High School from 2 to 4 p.m. The six week class will cost $30. Some art materials will be furnished fur-nished to those who need them. Mary Ann Judd Johnson and Sharon Cannon are the instructors. Both are established estab-lished art teachers in the Alpine School District. Although they are skilled in Choral Society The Utah Valley Choral Society is seeking to augment its tenor and bass sections in preparation for the Mastervvorks Series concert on April 7. The concert will feature Vivaldi's "Gloria" together with the regional premiere of Puccini's "Messa di Gloria." The choir will also sponsor a choral festival in May and will appear in the Freedom Festival in June. J. Arden Hopkin, new director direc-tor of the choral society, explained that the choral forces needed to perform Puccini's mass require additional strong male voices. People of all ages will be able to hear these groups as they share the light of their talents on the eve of the new millennium. These concerts are part of the many activities planned for the whole family to ignite the spirit of the year 2000 at First Night. The concerts can be seen at the Provo Community Church, 175 N. University Ave., at 8 and 10 p.m. A First Night admission button will be required for admittance. Fiddlesticks will be the first group to perform. They are a family group who have performed per-formed for audiences all over the state of Utah. The second show of the evening will help audiences male singers Centennial Middle School in Provo. Besides the weekly rehearsals, the choir carries with it some financial obligations, obliga-tions, says John Lamb, choir president. "Members pay dues to belong to the choir. They must also pay a music deposit, help sell tickets, and purchase their uniform. But the pleasure each member receives from singing in the choir more than justifies the costs and the time in rehearsal. We really enjoy each other and enjoy making wonderful music together."
