Registration low in Progress for 50th BYU Education Week Scheduled for June 8 ixegistration is now in progress for the 50th BYU Campus Education Ed-ucation Week. Ward representatives representa-tives will assist with pre-regis-tration and those over 14 years of age are cordially invited to attend this educational event. Registration Registra-tion will be only $5 for those completing pre-registr a -tion prior to June 1, with the regular reg-ular price $6 for persons completing com-pleting registration on campus. Registration would make an excellent ex-cellent gift for mother. Education Educa-tion Week is scheduled for June 8-11. A special rate of $8 for husband hus-band and wife is also in effect for pre-registration, according to stake Education Week chairmen chair-men Cora Adamson, Alpine Stake; Jerry Strong, American Fork Stake and Grant Christofferson, Lehi Stake. The first Education Week program pro-gram was held on the BYU Campus Cam-pus 50 years ago, designed for LDS Church officers, the program pro-gram was then called "Leadership "Leader-ship Week." The program is now open to all Church members and their non-member friends and includes a wide variety of classes class-es which will enrich the mind and increase the efficiency of those serving in a variety of callings in both church and occupational positions. The Education Week program provides rich opportunity for personal and professional growth, as well as a wider, deeper deep-er understanding of vital issues. Classes are presented in a noncompetitive, non-competitive, informal atmosphere atmos-phere where interest in learning is the central consideration. Academic Aca-demic credit is not given, nor are any exams required. There are special classes for youth and teenagers 14 and older are encouraged to attend. Young children and babies are not to be brought to class. There are ample accommodations accommoda-tions for those who desire to live on campus during the four-day event and housing applications are available at $2.75 per night, two persons to a room, or $3.25 for a private room. Cafeteria service is also available on campus cam-pus and no classes will be taught from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Class schedules begin at 7 a.m. and run through 7:30 p.m. each day. Special evening entertainment has been planned by the BYU Speech and Dramatic Arts Department. De-partment. "Hello Dolly" will be presented in the Pardoe Drama Theatre, Harris Fine Arts Center and will cost Education Week patrons only 75 cents admission. "The Wisdom Tree," an original play written by Max C. Golight-ly, Golight-ly, professor of Dramatic Arts at BYU, will be presented in the Madsen Recital Hall, HFAC,with admission 50 cents to Education Week patrons. Tickets for these productions may be obtained June 8, 9, 10 and 11 at the ticket office in the Harris Fine Arts Center between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or may be purchased In advance by including appropriate amount with application for registration.
