Contestants may participate in Camper Registration Law The new camper registration law becomes effective May 10, After that date a pickup truck carrying a camper must have a decal on the lower right hand corner of the rear license plate which will indicate that current property taxes on the camper have been paid. Campers are taxable as per sonal property, but very few have paid taxes on them in the past Under the new law campers will be required to be registered, and registration will depend on payment of the property tax, Campers will be taxed on the basis of value. To determine value, the make, model, size and age must be known. Campers not having a serial number will be issued one by the county asses sor. It is very important that the age of the camper be known when the registration is obtained in order to avoid overassess- ment of the tax. Proceeds of this tax are collected col-lected and retained in the coun ties since this is a local per sonal property tax. Camper owners who have al ready paid their tax this year still need to register their camp ers and get their license plate decals. All counties will have decals and registration supplies by May 3, or before. Blood Needed For Surgery Patient Mrs. Merlin Rowley is going in for open heart surgery on May 26.
