Show Sharon Earl FouSger Chosen For USO Tour Sharon Earl Foulger, well known American Fork dancer, was selected Monday night to perform for USO overseas tours. Miss Foulger was among a dozen Mountain West singers and dancers performing in five acts, chosen for the tours during the annual Talent Showcase championships cham-pionships held in Salt Lake. The performers were selected at finals held in the sunken gardens gar-dens at the home of Mr. andMrs. Horace A. Sorensen, Salt Lake. As president of South East Furniture Fur-niture ComDanv. Mr. Sorensen sponsors Talent Showcase on KLS-TV (channel 5). The USO contest is part of the show. More than 25 persons took part in 11 separate acts during the competition. Others selected select-ed were: 4 of a Kind, Salt Lake, four young college students who harmonize on folk andpopmus,ic; Vickie Davis, Tooele, a popular and ballad singer; The Visitors, four Salt Lake classical-standard folk singers; and Mike and Diane of Twin Falls, Idaho, ballad and western singers and Instrumentalists. Instrument-alists. Mrs. Foulger is the first dancer to be selected In Utah in the Dast three years, officials said. Bert A. Wishnew of New York City, assistant to Col. James Coray, director of the USO, was in Salt Lake City to make the final selections. Winners will participate in an upcoming USO tour of Europe, the Far East, Alaska or Viet nam. The auditions were sponsored jointly by the Salt Lake Council for International visitors ana me Sugar House Chapter, Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Mrs. Foulger, who currently rssides in Salt Lake City, is 8 ft the daughter of Alma LaVon and Irene Earl. She is well known in the area for her dancing talents and is currently teaching dance locally. Howard Nelsons To Leave July 1 For U.S.S.R. Tour Mr. and Mrs. J. The land portion of their journey jour-ney will begin in Switzerland. Thev will eo from there to Ven ice, Italy, then to Trieste, and across the border into Yugo slavia. Hungary. Bulgaria and Romania, before entering Into Russia itself. Traveling thru these little known countries, they will visit such historic old cities as Budapest, Bucharest, and Sofia, etc. In Russia they will visit the Black Sea, and such cities along the shore as Odessa, and Yalta, which are their most popular Summer Resorts for Swimming and Sun Bathing. Then through the Heart of the Ukrain, to the famous old city of Kiev, which is the center of the Bread Basket of Russia. While visiting Moscow, they Dlan side trips by plane to Stal ingrad, and Leningrad. From Moscow thev will fly to War saw, Poland, and there they will resume their travel by car. un their journey back into Western Europe, they will also cross Czecaslovakia, and visit the famous fa-mous Old City of Prague.
