Irvin Chipman Wins New Chevrolet in Sales Contest Irvin (Derb) Chipman was a real winner recently as he was the lucky winner of a new 1968 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe with all the trimmings. Mr. Chipman won the new car as he competed In a Chevrolet Motor Company sponsored April Sales Contest. For each new car that a salesman sold he was allowed to put his name in the hat for the drawing. Each ten day period they drew out names for the $25 savings bonds and as the final drawing and the grand prize the new car. Competing Com-peting in the sales contest and the drawing were salesmen from 143 Chevrolet dealerships in this Zone. A special breakfast meeting was held at the Parks Cafe in Orem where Mr. Frank Arenz, Chevrolet zone manager; Mr. R. E. Husser, Zone merchandis ing manager; and Mr. J. R. Jensen, Jen-sen, District manager for Chevrolet Chev-rolet were present to inform Mr. Chipman of his terrific stroke of good luck and to congratulate congratu-late him and our sales team for their sales achievements. Mr. Chipman and his wife Norma live at 240 W. 500 No. in American Fork. They are well known in the area and have been active in civic, church, and community affairs for many years. They are the parents of one daughter Mrs. Kenneth (Connie) (Con-nie) Sorensen. Irvin has been selling Chevrolets at Timpano-gos Timpano-gos Motor Company and Gene Harvey Chevrolet for the past 13 years, during which time he has made a multitude of friends and recieved recognition in the Chevrolet Hall of Fame and the Legion of Leaders sales clubs. Congratulations! S OUTSTANDING GRADUATE-Lt. J. H. Hadfield was presented with the Silver Sabre as outstanding graduate from Ut. Military Mili-tary Academy. Two Local Guardsmen Graduate From Officer Candidate School Last Week J. H. Hadfield and John S. Wootton, from American Fork, were among the 37 Utah Na tional Guardsmen who graduated irom Officer Candidate School. They attended OCS for 54 weeks, including two summer camps during the school. During this training they received re-ceived courses in infantry tactics, tac-tics, map reading, drill and ceremony, cere-mony, leadership, Army organ-i organ-i z a t i 0 n, instruction techniques and infantry weapons. Rigorous mental and physical discipline are important phases of OCS instruction, according to Maj. Gen. Maurice L. Watts, Utah Adjutant General. Having received their gold bars last Saturday, they will now be 'assigned to units in the Utah National Guard. Lt. Hadfield was presented the award as the outstanding graduate of the Utah Military Academv. OCS program in ceremonies held baturaay at Camp Williams. He was awarded the Silver Sabre for being the honor graduate which includes leadership, academics ana tactics. He has been a member of the Utah National Guard for ten years and has been a full time em ployee for the past five vears. He worked in the Lehi Unit for three years and for the past two years has been with the American Fork Unit. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hadfield of Lehi. He is married to the former Elaine Haws and thev are the Darents of two children, a son, two years old and a daughter, three months old. They have been residents of American Fork for the past three years. John Sterling Wootton, received receiv-ed a small Sabre and Scabbard at the awards ceremony. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. Devere Wootton, American Fork. Roger R. Archuleta On Viet Nam Duty Army Private First Class Roger R. Archuleta Jr., 21, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Archuleta, and wife, Lucy, live at 408 E. Main, American Fork, was assigned June 3 as a missile mis-sile launcher mechanic in Battery Bat-tery C of the 71st Artillery's 6th Battalion near Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam.
