Such ;a condition existed in the last --session of the Utah Legislature Cwhen there were 59 Republican .members of the House of Rep C-tesentatlves and only 10 Demo- ."cratlc members. We can and Xshould begin the needed reformation refor-mation at home in the 37th Legislative Leg-islative District to remedy this I;sItuation. I offer myself as an -experienced candidate to dimin- -;-fc5h the over-balanced Republican .control and reestablish a Demo-Icratic Demo-Icratic voice in the Utah House :-:ef Representatives." :-:sales tax "I also am concerned that ;;Salt Lake City with the aid ofl '--some other cities of the State ;-ire formulating a drive to in grease the local sales tax from ;-J2 cents to 1 cent. - If this additional tax is not I imposed, it would still be pos ihle fnr Hip Cltv of Ameri lcan Fork to gain an additional ; $5000.00 or more each year over inu above the amount it now re- ;ceives, and Lehi $25,000.00 or v-jnore each year extra, and our t Utah .County government would :.gain about $25,000.00 or more pleach year, if the sales tax is i;not raised but only distributed vbn a per capita basis.
