Show AMER1CAN FORK CITIZEN Thursday, May 9, 1968 Mr. and Mrs. Monte Bullock into old Mexico and arrived home Wednesday. The students of Iris Bullock participated in a piano recital Saturday, at the new church. Jeffery Bennett turned 12, Sunday, Sun-day, and the family celebrated in his honor. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.DarrelRasmussen, who came from Bountiful to help celebrate. Dwight C. McDaniel, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Colvin E. McDaniel Mc-Daniel of Alpine, and Elaine Christensen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Christensen, of Pleasant Grove, were mar- ried Saturday, at the McDanlels home by Bishop Carl Ringger. Later, a reception was held In their honor in Pleasant Grove. The couple are now honeymooning honeymoon-ing in California and will make their home in Denver, Colorado. The Riley Miller family have moved back to Alpine 6? are proud to announce the ar rival of their first grandchild. It was a baby boy born to Dee and Linda Bullock of Ogden, weighing seven pounds, seven ounces at birth. Welcoming their first grandchild, also, are Mr. 0 and Mrs. Lowell Hansen of Spring City, Utah. Alice Broomhead, Ina Brown, Goldie Strong, Thelma Newman, and Faye Adamson from Alpine met with the Optl-Mrs. Club at the home of Aredean Hatch in Riverton, last Thursday. The erandsons of Alton Carl isle, Scott, Bob, Craig, and Kyle Carlisle, and Dana Beck, showed registered lambs and participated participat-ed in the four-day stock show at Spanish Fork. Duane Devey, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Devey, broke his arm Saturday, at his home. He was practicing broadjumping. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Elton would like to thank everyone for the consideration shown to them during the illness of their infant son, Paul. Remember! Tumbling classes will begin Saturday, at 12:30 In the city gym, taught by Darlene Page and Katherine Devey. The parents enjoy ed a program rendered by the" students then the parents and students stu-dents danced. To end the fun- filled evening, homemade icecream, ice-cream, cookies and root beer were served. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Shepherd traveled to Farmington, New Mexico, last Friday, where tney visited with Kent's brother, Ray, until Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bair took their dauchter-in-law and two erandsons to Silver City, New Mexico, recently, to join her husband Doug Bair. He is worK in? there. Afterwards, they traveled down ... Dates Set For Hat. Guard Summer Camp June 2 to July 20... those are Important days in the lives of the Utah Army National Guard, Those are the dates the guardsmen guards-men will conduct their annual two-weeks of summer field train' ing. In announcing the training dates, Ma. Gen. Maurice L. Watts, Utah Adjutant General, noted flexibility and mobility will be emphasized this year with guard units training in Califor nia, Oklahoma as well as at var lous Utah training sites. Camp Roberts, Calif., will be the training site for the 117th Engineer Company from June 2 to June 16 Men from the unit hall from Lehi and Tooele. The remainder of the Guard's engineer units also will conduct their annual field training the weeks of June 2-16. They will work on road building projects around Camp W. G. Williams and in the nearby mountains. Salt Lake City's 144th Eva cuation Hospital will spend its two weeks of summer camp at Fort Sill, Okla., from July 6-20 And the guard's unconventional warfare experts, the 19th Spec ial Forces Group (Airborne) will train at Camp Williams from July 6-20. Alpine Elementary School Happenings In 1899 a new school was er ected In Alpine - before that time the old relic hall on main street served as the school and now that old red school house on the hill Is being torn down Jessie Johnson was the first principal at the old school and Inez Clark, now Mrs. Edward Burgess, was one of the first students to attend school that year of 1899.
