Research Director at Utah Trade Technical Techni-cal .Institute, designed the pro ject and will be the principal investigator under a grant con nected with the National Voca onal Act of 1963. The project is designed to determine the relationship vo catlonal-technlcal education has. as - a factor ? in manufacturing company: personnel selecting their new industrial and manufacturing manu-facturing plant sites, The project pro-ject has two major implications: 1. To determine which manu facturing companies are investigating, investi-gating, or planning to investigate, investi-gate, plant sites in the seven Intermountaln States, including Utah and Utah County. 2. To determine, from - the different kinds of manufacturing companies, and significance they place upon vocational and techni cal education as a factor In plant site selections. From the project, several re sults are anticipated, including the following: , 1, ToprovtdeUtahTradeTech- nical Institute, and other vocational-technical educational institutes in-stitutes with information which will be helpful to the school in meeting the needs of the manufacturing manu-facturing Industry through voca tional education. ' 2. To help build a positive relationship between Utah Trade Technical Institute andthemanu- Ernest Dean . facturlng Industry.' 3. To provide information which will be helpful to industrial industri-al development organizations, including in-cluding UVIDA and the city in dustrial development organizations organiza-tions of the county. .
