Robert Christensen and Toney Stafford also earned honors at the meet. All three are students at American Fork High School. Lott, a sophomore from American Ameri-can Fork, took first place in the longjump with a leap of 17-feet 1 1 2 inches, first in the 55 meter hurdles with a time if .08:34 and ran on a girls medley relay team that captured cap-tured first place with a time of 4:19. She also took fourth in the high jump and ran on the fourth place 4 by 400 relay team. She is coached by Rod Jorgensen. Christensen, a Highland resident resi-dent and a AFHS senior, took sec ond place in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.80 Stafford, a junior at AFHS, took sixth place in the 3200 meter run. Christensen and Stafford are coached by George Ricks. The athletes were among 1700 whocompeted in the Games, which is one of the nation's largest track and field competition for high school athletes. Community Calendar Spouse support group Sandy Olson, a resident of Dah-rahn, Dah-rahn, Saudi Arabia, will speak to the Spouse Support Group of the 117th Engineers of the National Guard Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Lehi Armory. Olson, residing temporarily in Orem, will tell of the culture and the changes in her life due to the Persian Gulf conflict. Anyone with family members involved is welcome to attend. land's Heritage Park at 1 p.m., will give Highland residents a chance to show their support of the men and women involved in Operation Desert Shield. The event isunder the direction of city officials and the Highland Kiwanis. Highland Stake Dance The Highland LDS Stake will hold a "Support the Troops" dance for those 14 and older in the Highland High-land north building, from 8 to 11 p.m. Live music will be provided by CB Jazz and patriotic entertainment entertain-ment will be presented by the American Fork J unior High School Choir. Highland to support troops "Operation Yellow Ribbon," planned Saturday, Feb. 23, in High- City Council American Fork's City Council will hold its regular session at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. Included on the agenda are various vari-ous appointments to Citizen Committees Com-mittees and Boards and a status report from the Ambulance Department. Depart-ment. Consultant Wayne Hillier will report on the city's water rights and their conversion from irrigation irriga-tion to culinary water. Alpine City Council The Alpine City Council meets at Alpine City Hall, with the meeting meet-ing beginning at 7 p.m. Alpine School District The regular meeting the Alpine Board of Education begins at 6:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove High School. Girls' basketball The American Fork girls' basketball bas-ketball team will play at Timpview High School at 7 p.m. Highland City Council The Highland City Council meets at the new city building. The council coun-cil meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Free seminar Dr. Lynn Scoresby will be the featured speaker in a free seminar, "Motivating Your Children to Learn."
