Aaron Card, narrator, and Janet Bousing, harpist, will perform with the choirs. Student director, Deena Boolhe. assists with antiphonal numbers. Student soloists are Brendan Robinson, Matt Wood. Amy Jacob, Jennifer Turley, Amy Jo Ashton, Charles lirson and Kmily Jacob. The work of Benjamin Brilten. "Ceremony of Carols" with harp accompaniment is an outstanding feature of the concert. South Pacific offers tryouts All the mystique and romance of the south seas will be coming to the " Alhambra Theatre in Pleasant Grove this spring when that community com-munity presents its presentation of "South Pacific." "innovative staging of this musical will make it a unique, multi-media production," reports director Audra Moss. "Exciting visuals and the use of a pool and dramatic dance numbers will create the aura and romance of the south seas." Tryouts will be held Friday, Dec. 16, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Dec. 17 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the home of Audra Moss, 751 S. 500 East, Orem. Those unable to make it at that time should contact her at 225-6937. 225-6937. "We're looking for nurses, service men, Polynesian dancers, Bloody Mary, and children," Mrs. Moss explained. "Those who participate should come prepared to do skits, improvisations, sing a short number or dance." Performances will run Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, March 2 through April 7, 1984. Noted LDS musician to visit Orem A. Laurence Lyon, a noted LDS composer-arranger and music educator, will visit Orem on Dec. 14 to meet with local parents and area musicians. Dr. Lyon, Professor of Music at Western Oregon State College, is coauthor co-author of the Rainbow Tones Audio-Visual Audio-Visual String Series, with Reva Blair. His visit to Utah coincides with the Dec. 11 Mormon Tabernacle Taber-nacle Choir Broadcast, in which his number, "Soft, Soft" will be performed. per-formed. The public is invited to meet with Dr. Lyon to learn more about the Rainbow Tones method of string instruction. A reception in his honor will be held at The Musical Rainbow, Rain-bow, 1407 North State Street, Wasatch Square in Orem. The reception will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. All interested parties are invited to attend. Tech features teller training Evening classes at Utah Technical College at ProvoOrem will feature a bank teller training course Tuesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. for three credits. This course covers basic principles prin-ciples of bank operations as related to detailed training on specific transactions conducted by tellers. Completion of this course qualifies students for job-entry into the banking industry. For further information contact the Evening Class Department on the Provo campus at 226-5000. 57 patients still need sponsors The Forgotten Patient Christmas Project at the Utah State Hospital still needs volunteers to help provide Christmas for people who will have no Christmas otherwise.
