"In my opinion, the accelerator accelera-tor was completely to the floor. The tires were smoking. I was directly behind the vehicle. I think the only thing that kept it from going back is it was pinned underneath my patrol vehicle," Ivie said. When he opened the driver's side door, Ivie said Barrett had a blank stare on his face and was shaking. Ivie put the vehicle ve-hicle in park and took the keys out of the ignition. Ivie said Barrett told him he was having a panic attack. Song was transported trans-ported to a nearby hospital and treated for minor scrapes she suffered when she went over the barricade. She said she was driving to work when she pulled over for a flat tire on her front passenger pas-senger side. While she was waiting for a tow truck, Ivie arrived and offered to help change her tire. They were standing behind her car with his patrol truck about 10 feet behind them when the SUV hit. "He kind of grabbed me and we fell behind the cement rail," she said. Song said she is grateful that Ivie was there. Before he arrived, she was sitting in her front passenger seat while she waited for a tow. If Ivie hadn't shown up, she said, the SUV probably would have hit her car while she was still sitting there.
